A day of work…

So it’s been an entire day and my eyes are pretty much dead, probably time to take a break.

Started off with a platformer kind of thing, scrapped that and started over this afternoon with a simple top-down game, and then I got a little bored and started messing about with the colour settings…

#gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ Distinctive... Distinctive… Grayscale is nice too... Grayscale is nice too… Pretty colours... Pretty colours…

Randomly generated levels that just keep being generated as you move down the floors are a nice feature, but I still haven’t really got any idea about an objective. I’ll save as a job for later…

DONEEEEEEE

Wow that took much longer than expected. I was supposed to be doing revision for an exam in 10 hours but oh well, I’m pretty pleased with how my game turned out in the end, although I’m do doubtful of how well it stuck to the minimalist brief.

BLoX!

BLoX, or “Blocks and a Lot of XOR” is the title for no particular reason, although if anybody has heard of Swing’s setXORMode method that might give you a clue…

And now is my time to go make some dinner…it’s only midnight after all :)

If you feel like looking at my entry, it can be found here.

Thanks Ludum Dare, I look forward to the next time we meet.

Here we go again…

My second Ludum Dare, the second time my computer has decided to die and corrupt things I was in the middle of working on (Source control is important people!)

In other news, here’s a platformer! Would probably be closer to completion if I didn’t spend hours making sloped surfaces…oh well…

Random Platformer!

At least this time I had the good sense to build in a level editor for testing purposes :)

Finally Finished…

And so comes to the end of our long two days of Ludum Dare, I should probably be getting some sleep but whatever I’m just happy I’m finished :)

This was my second Ludum Dare. Two out of two finishes so far, not too bad. Although on both occasions I’ve been scrambling to be finished right before the end…probably something to learn there :) #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ Shiny... Shiny… Just what everybody needs :) Just what everybody needs :) Better find a switch or something, quick! Better find a switch or something, quick!
Watch Out! Watch Out! Quick, get here! Quick, get here! Maybe it opens something... Maybe it opens something…

Yes I know, my art is terrible. Let’s move on already…

The legendary GitHub came in extremely useful on both Ludum dares when my laptop decides it wants to crash and corrupt half of the things I’m working on… I’m not particularly fond of my laptop for that.

It would be awesome if I could add support for the Oculus Rift on this, what with one sitting about two metres away from me, but alas I have no idea how so unless there’s a lot of demand for it, it’s probably not going to happen I’m afraid.

I’ll probably do a proper post-mortem in a couple of days, after I’ve had a while to check out all the other awesome stuff people have made.

Here’s a link to my entry in case anybody cares!
