Ludum Dare 48

When google is your friend...

So i was brainstorming quite a while, till i finaly typed deeper into google to get some fresh ideas.

I found that there is a Sonar Fishing System called "Deeper".

Now i´m trying to make a game where u fish "Deeper" and deeper! x)

Lets see how good i can deliver x.x

First real output!

So after my first hour (i know i´m realy late and i just hope i get something finished),

I got some basic art loaded, now the real programming starts, wish me luck!

Graphical update - just a little bit, is it comform?

So i made a game for the compo, and ppl seem to like the time they spent on it, however everyone tells me basicaly the same - its good, but they would love any indication to how far they threw the hook. I´ dont want to make any big changes, but i would love to implement a simple sign that says "50 Meters" - that way ppl may get into the game a little bit quicker and can enjoy it a little bit longer. Since i dont fix a "bug" i want to ask here first, what do you guys say - would it be ok to add a tiny img?

The change i think about is something like this:

It will only be a graphical update - no new features come with this little sign - what do you think, is it ok to do this?

Letzzz go!

Second Time in this, a little bit drunk because i had friends over till now (4:30 AM) Since i got so many great comments on my last entry at ld48 (even tho i didn´t rank pretty high) i really was looking forward to today - I didn´t vote for the theme "Delay the inevitable" - i think its a kinda broad theme. But its also not a theme u have like 20 Ideas on the spot.

Have to do some brainstorming now to get a good idea ready so i can go for a quick sleep and begin working on it later today.

Good luck to all of you for this Ludum Dare 50 - i´m looking forward to a lot of great games <3

The Idea and some graphics are done, but a lot of coding is still ahead!

So i finally finished brainstorming, got a kinda interesting idea for this Ludum dare and already made some graphics so i can have a general overview of the final product to come.

My Idea: The inevitable part of my game is a hero who clears his dungeon - because heros always win, ofc. Your job is, to delay his run as much as possible. With traps, monsters or with a maze of paths created by YOU u can give it your best try to delay the heros victory over the next dungeon!

As soon as i got that idea i was hooked. So now after ~9 hours i finally got my idea, some graphics and can actually start the fun part, coding <3 As always i´m going to use html/css/js/php to create a web base game - on one hand because that way its easy to play, for every one - on the other hand i simply love the challenge to create graphics, sounds, code and even the engine in just about 48 hours. I hope i get to finish in time, stick around i keep ya updated on the project.

Have a peek at what the main game is supposed to look like:

Some cheap self-promotion

Hey everyone, i´m still looking for a few ratings on my game. So i'm looking for a few tester and i would especially appreciate it to see some constructive feedback.

You can play my game in browser - so if u have a few minutes at hand i would love to see my work get used.

You can also play it on your phone, no keyboard needed ;D

Generall Game Ideas

For all of you out there, not knowing what to do with this theme, here are a lot of base ideas to help you get started, have fun :3

  • All 10 Seconds something new spawns
  • All 10 Seconds add something to increase the challenge
  • All 10 Seconds reset the game to the last savespot
  • All 10 Seconds change the world around the player
  • All 10 Seconds take dmg - heal yourself to stay alive
  • All 10 Seconds revert/change your input
  • The player has 10 Seconds to finish a task that gets harder and harder every time

First Images

The first sprites are done  not sure if they are final tho :joy:

Map generation, check

So, i´ll make a game with some kind of labyrinth that changes every 10 seconds - random generation looks kinda good, at least good enough for now

I am pleased :3

Day 1 is basically over and i`m really pleased with what i got so far :3

Still got a lot to do, audio, menu, tutorial... but i got this!

Love to see what everyone is up to!

Just took some time off the project to check what others are doing, i cant wait to play all those great looking games :3

I'll go into bed now, all of you still awake and working, have fun, cya tomorrow o/

Pac-Mouse Survival

People call it a "nice spin on the pacman formula" - come and try Pac-Mouse Survival for yourself and tell me what you think about my, only in javascript written, ludum dare compo entry! :3

Post Ludum Dare Achievment

This Ludum Dare i worked with free movement for the first time. For me, as i only participate in LD with 'core' JS Code, that meant to write a working collision function. Since i've never done that before i thought square hitboxes are easier to implement, even tho they don't feel as good as circle hitboxes.

Now, a few days after LD, i took some time to try my luck with circle hitboxes - have to say, they are WAY easier to implement, and i feel like they work great :D

Next LD i'll think about using my newly acquired knowledge \o/

Till then, maybe you want to check out my LD51 entry, even tho this sweet circle collision is not implemented there :3

There is a lot going on ~_~

My game gets in shape, it looks kinda chaotic, and it is, but i still hope all of you testing it when its done get to love it! Still have to do the sound and fix up some last minute bugs - hope to finish in time...

Get ready to get your PC infested with a lot of Viruses... >:D

...but consider them less harmfull then you might think!

Those little buggers are your new way of income!

Get your PC infested, let the Virus grow and harvest them at the right time to get a good buck from antivirus companies for the collected analytical data!

If this sounds fun, check out my COMPO entry "Virus Harvester" here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/$317362

This awaits you... CoverImage.png

Cant belive i'd say this, but...

i think this Ludum Dare i'll take the obvious route for the theme and gonna make a (food-)delivery based game. Normally i try to go a littlebit exotic with the theme, but i got an idea for a game already and i really like it :3 Also, last Ludum Dare i wastet A LOT of time on getting any idea, so i'm quite happy to have something already this time :D

Good Luck for all of you still looking for an idea - something that came to mind as soon as i saw the topic, "child delivery", maybe this helps someone :3

2 Hours in, huh?

My progress so far -> a scene of how the game will kinda look like - have to think about a few more needed indicators for the player.

Screenshot 2023-04-29 045452.png

As soon as this is finished i'm gonna eat a bit, start with some basic code, make some sprites and think about what sounds i could need and how to make them. Since the last Ludum Dare i got a new microphone and i want to try to record some sounds for this game :D Normally i take a nap after i have the idea for my game, but this time i found the idea so fast and am still full of energy so i think i'll get a lot done before i have to take the first sleep break \o/

Thanks for reading, remember to stay hydrated and have fun :3

6 Hours in - progress!

It already kinda looks and works the way i planed - gameplay is still missing, but i'm fine with how far i got for now! :3

wipGif_1.gif

Its getting kinda "late" for me so i'll go to bed now - see ya all later o/ And dont forget to stay hydrated!

New progress after some rest!

So i've added a smartphone to my game - Also a tourplaner was added and the routing kinda works - i'm amazed :3

wipGif_2.gif

Still no real gameplay tho :< The next step is to implement a little deliveryboy that walks the planed route after hitting the start button, which will remove the customers from the map and add some money. Also i need to think about adding time to the game - i'm thinking about calculated time for the distance traveled and a daily limit of workhours. That way i'm open to use the days as levels and the "off work" times for a shop with upgrades! :D

Future sight, if i happen to have enough time -> add road blocks to make the user plan around those <- make sure no closed areas exist tho!

As always, thanks for reading, stay hydrated and have fun in the jam! :3
