Dngncrwlr – a minimalistic 2-button dungeon crawler

Explore the dungeon, kill orcs, avoid steaming lava pits, defeat the evil sorcerer and unlock the door that leads to the kidnapped princess, a complete dungeon crawler experience. All of that with just two keys.

This is my first LD entry, it’s writte entirely in Javascript/Coffeescript and CSS3/SASS, in a build environment based on Middleman a static ruby page generation tool. At first I wanted to do something in Unity, but I kinda got a little rusty in Unity and C#, and then I thought ‘what the heck’ and just fired away in Javascript. I wanted to do a tile based game in HTML for a while now, so here it is. Took me about 12 hours.

You can get the full source code and do what you want with it here:

Maybe I’ll add a couple of more things to it later.
