Work is ongoing
For all fantasy genre fans, stay tuned! :D

For all fantasy genre fans, stay tuned! :D

We finished our work for today, worked for almost 17 hours. It will be an adventure, story-driven game focused on parody of fantasy genre. These are the characters of our story! ;)

And the intro (it's currently a placeholder, but the main story remains the same):

Stay tuned for Just another fantasy game!
Our team member @cygi has just finished the OST for short cyberpunk game MSS, Incorporated... And we love it!

Stay tuned! MSS, Incorporated - coming soon!
Separate Team presents...
MSS, Incorporated

You wake up and don’t remember a thing.
Who are you?
Where are you?
Who is the mysterious voice that keeps on talking to you?
Why are these… robots attacking a main server?
Grab your katana sword, smash through incoming robots and discover terrifying truth about you and MSS, Incorporated!

Did you like the trailer? Are you in a mood to slash some robots with katana sword and enjoy 80's-style synthwave? Check out MSS, Incorporated!
In 2057 the United Nations decided to send it's first colony ship to a distant star. The reasoning behind it was quite simple: if the Solar System ever faces total destruction, humanity will survive. Decades later humans explore the Milky Way and as a sole sentient species colonise the galaxy. Some of the colony ships disapear without a single trace... Our game will tell a story of one of them and the great danger it has faced.
Check out this concept art from our graphic designer @olivv_g!

Quite lovely, right? Stay tuned and wait for more updates!
Meet our nameless Hero, who wakes up in an empty, damaged spaceship. He does not remember who he is and what happened. Since the oxygen level is low, our Hero needs to delve deep into the ship, fix the O2 generator and find out what happened to the ship and the crew.
The deeper he goes in pursuit of the truth, the more strange and unnerving the mystery becomes...

Deep Space: Beyond - coming soon!
Meet the Sepawaste Team that are (or rather will be soon) responsible for our jam entry game, DEEP SPACE: BEYOND.
We also got help from our American friend supertrain who did a proofreading of our script as well as from dryciak who created Sepawaste intro.
Stay tuned and wait for DEEP SPACE: BEYOND. Coming soon!
The game development is still ongoing and we have quite a lot of work to do ahead of us, but the first build of the game is up and working! As more and more things are being added every hour, the game is almost playable at the moment! Take a look into one of the locations on the first level!

Empty spacecraft, single flashlight and a Hero going deeper and deeper into the madness... Sounds interesting, right? :)
Check out our game's main menu! @Cygi carefully crafted it from the pieces using @olivv-g graphics and he even created a custom music for the background. I cannot overstate how lovely does it look and sound!

The game will be available in the browser quite soon (we got 4 hours left anyway), so strap on your seatbelts, prepare some popcorn and get ready to delve deep into our damaged spaceship!
We did it! We finished our game, Deep Space: Beyond, in time and we managed to implement 99% of things we wanted to be in there in the first place! Although most of our team members are currently sleeping, @thomasward (that would be me) and one of our programmers, @mordechai are celebrating! I think we earned at least a few sips of beer... :)

Be sure to check out the game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/deep-space-beyond
If you're up for a little horror and science fiction story, delve deep into our Deep Space: Beyond, a story driven adventure game!

Check it out!
if you're reading this, most likely you have managed to make and publish a game for this jam edition. Contgratulations! So did we. Out game is called Deep Space: Beyond and we highly encourage you to try it! This entry will be about something else though. I will talk about a few simple things you NEED to do as a team (or solo creator) in order to fully utilize experience gained while working on a game!

Get over feedback and think about how you could have done it better using the given time.
The significance of the feedback is quite obvious... But you shouldn't just get over it. While reading it, think about what went wrong AND how you could have done it better WHILE still working under the time pressure. Creating and fixing a game now, with no time limit, is very simple... But the thing is that you can get more and more! Search for easy solutions that can be implemented fast... This will profit you in your next game jam!
Don't ignore hate
While most haters don't really know why they hate your game (they just really didn't like this), there always is a reason WHY they hated it. Think about what might have gone wrong. Maybe the problem is with the core of the game - you created something really niche, that will be liked only by handful of the players on the first place? Think about the reasons behind hate, but don't let yourself getting upset because of it. You did something amazing and you should be proud of it!
Be sure to check out our game Deep Space: Beyond. It's a fun SF horror story which is basically a walking sim - no combat, just exploring and getting into the mood!

Frog smoking a cigarette? Check. Purple mushrooms floating in the water? Check. A rather phallic ship shooting white projectiles? Check.
And this is just a beggining. Embrace yourself… Mecha-beaver is coming!

This work is ongoing and we are really excited about the progress made already. Our game is called "Psycho Beaver" and it will be a rather trippy experience focused mostly on dynamic gameplay. Much more is yet to be done, but it seems like we should be able to finish at least the core part of the game and maybe even implement some of the extra ideas we thought of. Anyway, stay tuned for "Psycho Beaver"!

Meet our hero - the one and only Psycho Beaver (roll credits)! Well, he isn't really a living creature but rather a mechanised creature... He just wants to get to the top of the ocean -- but his way is full of strange creatures, which aren't really benevolent. Whatsmore, he's mechanism is getting more and more unstable, which affects his movement as well as his shooting ability. The more unstable he gets, the harder the game will be...
There is one, easy way to boost your stability, though. Magic mushrooms. If you eat one, you get more stable. Of course for a while. And eating every mushroom has it's own extra effect too. And, perhaps, a cost!
Stay tuned for "Psycho Beaver" - the trippiest game on Ludum Dare 49!
30 hours are left till the end of the jam and we are still fighting. Today is the laziest day of the work - we have of course already done a lot and are about to do much more, but the real crunch will come tomorrow. This is a tactic we have developed in the course of doing a few jams and we think it works the best.
Let's look at it on the example of a 72-hours game jam such as Ludum Dare. On the first day we develop the game idea and work really hard to implement as many mechanics as we can. We also think really hard on the gameplay and how to reflect the theme in the game's mechanics. On the second day we work a bit slower and take a few longer breaks. We focus on finishing most mechanics as well as adding some of the content. The primary goal is to finish a demo part of the game with something so that the testing may start. On the third day we polish the mechanics and add most conent, and then polish the game if there's time. Usually there is, luckily.
Do you agree with our tactic? Or perhaps do you have a slightly or entirely different approach? If so, please share your thoughts with us!
By the way, our game will be called "Psycho Beaver" and we hope it will be fun and very trippy! If you have made it till this point I advise you to remember the name of the game and play it. If we finish it of course! :D
Good luck guys on your entries and thanks for reading!

This is the final boss in our game - "Psycho Beaver". He's mad, he's angry and he HATES everything that isn't a beaver - including mecha-beavers! He resides just below the surface and lives in his dame. Some might say that he is evil, other think, that he's just crazy... And noone is entirely right.
Will the protagonist of our game be able to beat him or will he fail in his struggle? This is to be determined by you - the player!
"Psycho Beaver" - coming soon!

Meet the one and only miniboss for our upcoming game Psycho Beaver! A dangereous, giant puffer fish who will not hesistate to kill our main character. It will not only shoot it's sharp bristles, but also call for help to other, smaller puffer fishes! Defeating it might be a challenge, but we are sure that most of the players should manage to do it!
Psycho Beaver - coming soon! :)

It's crunch time and we are using some mental help from our friends... But it seems like we should be able to make it!
Stay tuned for PSYCHO BEAVER - (hopefully) the most trippy game on Ludum Dare 49!
