LD 38

First Night Progress

I'm moving along a lot faster than I initially anticipated, and I've got a pretty reliable world generation system down already. Here's an example of one such small world that it will generate: while they all have slightly different shapes their block percentages and general structure tend to stay the same, which I'm happy with for a LD game.

Making some progress

I've improved the visuals quite a lot and made a tiny planet that spins, but as far as gameplay goes I have nothing. I'm actually starting to get concerned about not having a real direction this late in the jam, but I'm sure it will work out. Here's a recent screenshot of the game: http://i.imgur.com/sePVoES.png

Saturday Progress

Saturday is coming to a close but here's my progress so far: http://i.imgur.com/pm1HpCD.png

Behind the scenes I have the harvesting mechanic pretty much done but there is still a lot more work to do. Hopefully I can make some more progress within the next hour or so before I call it a night.

Finally Finished

I'm not going to lie, this has been the hardest Ludum Dare for me so far. I've never struggled with a theme so much before and that left me really unmotivated to finish the game for the first time. All in all, I think that the final product (hasn't been published yet due to the weird submission form, but it will be called "Replenish") is fairly decent but could have used a little more polish (and a little more refinement of the idea). Hopefully next time I'll enjoy it more
