Probably Overscoped for a First Project

My first game jam/Ludum Dare and first time actually making a game with the intent of finishing something and not just messing around. I haven't ended up with much, but it's been fun so far. So far I've still got most of the UI, Enemies, some sort of map, part of the main mechanic, graphics, and sound left, sooo I highly doubt I'll finish in time hahaha. I'll still work on it tomorrow and see how far I get. Good Luck everyone!

Ludum Dare 45

Not Really a Game, Yet

Hey everyone! This is my second attempt at Ludum Dare and I don't have a lot of game making experience in general. I spent most of the time realizing I've mostly forgotten how to use Unity and balancing some other tasks. It's slowly coming together though. I wasn't entirely motivated by the theme, but I have a rough game idea. We'll see how it turns out tomorrow.

The idea was to start from a seed and spread out into the world, slowly taking over barren land and rejuvenating it into plants and forest. Right now it's just an "island" made with Perlin noise (could be random, but right now it's the same each time) and a bunch of grass clumps that turn into trees. The idea would have been, should time have allowed, to grow the forest while keeping in mind things like moisture, animals, people, fires, etc and you had to manage the land and balance your choices to eventually spread and either take over (possibly carnivorous plants) or live together with the other life on the island. Starting with a seed in barren wastes to a vast jungle/forest/etc.

I haven't ended up with a game so far, but it's kinda fun to watch the grass and trees take over. It's a little hard to see in the gif, but the clumps start from the center and grow out. Good luck everyone! https://imgur.com/a/7DwSxOL
