LD22

Setting for my game

I am doing a pixel art side-scroller for LD22 and wanted some input on a setting. Should my game be within –

A) foreign world

B) war zone

C) post-apocalyptic city

D) abstract inner-mind

E) something else

Let me know what you think. Also, you can follow my progress on twitter @mortalitygames

I was actually thinking about an inner mind game in which your comrades slowly fade away as the game progresses, leaving you hopelessly alone and out manned.

option D sounds most interesting alright! I think Alone and Abstract would work great, and we’re all alone in our minds right? :)

Thanks for the suggestions. While it was very tempting to go with an abstract theme, I did fond a plot line that works well with a post-apocalypse. I can (and will) find a way to incorporate the abstract thing into it

Version 1.0

Got my version 1.0 up for “The LD Lament”.

Can get it here http://www.mediafire.com/?km314pp01akn6 plus screenshots (and old builds). Made with XNA (and c#)

Tomorrow I am to add more areas and thus make a larger game.

LD23

I’m in – sort of

Only an hour to go and I am so excite to start. I already have 1000 ideas in my head, ready for any of the themes but I do have one problem: I am at a family event all weekend.

The plan is to find a dark corner and get as much jamming done before I am dragged away to a dinner or a family outing. I hope to get 20 hours in over the weekend which should be enough to knock out a simplistic game

I think it it very appropriate that  @StaticVoidGames posted an apology letter for jammers http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2012/04/20/dear-significant-others-were-sorry/.

I am literally getting pulled away to go and do things so good luck to compo-ers and jammers all.
