Ludum Dare 48

I’m in for a first functional attempt :)

I finally get to do one again! (hopefully, but this time I planned it a little bit)

I will most likely be using Elm, my favorite programming language these days, either with plain HTML, SVG, or WebGL (2D or 3D, maybe?).

EDIT: I just checked and my last participation was in 2014 :o http://ludumdare.com/compo/author/niavlys/

A glowing ball rolling on a textured ground

This is my first attempt at making a 3D game, doing ok so far! I will probably lack some time to finish the whole thing, but I’m enjoying the trip.

It’s also my first game using Elm, an awesome language+framework for web apps, that happens to have nice libraries written for working with WebGL.

I made a 3D game!

With a functional language for web applications, somehow. In the end this has probably been the Ludum Dare in which I felt I was learning the most, and maybe the one I had the most fun doing too.

Sure, a lot of things are missing. An animation when you go down one level, some audio, a little more variation between levels… But always focusing on the most essential tasks helped me “finish” this game at least, and it might have been the first time for me!

Trying this again!

Feeling more ready than ever for this, as I have nothing else planned this week-end and the weather here is gonna be rainy and cold! I decided to make a 2D game in Elm and have even written a base skeleton, so hopefully I’m going to have more time than usual to design, program and polish this game.
