Ludum Dare 46

First time jammers

'Been looking forward to doing Ludum Dare's and brush up my skills in the most serious manner this time. I had my team assembled and ready to make some progress, albeit we've yet to know what to expect. Honestly wish all of us have fun building the games up to our expectations.

"KEEP WHAT ALIVE !?" - Our final words

Last night was an eventful yet exhilarating for me and my team. But we did it. We built everything from scratch, from the sounds, scripts, graphics to the mechanics.

This is the link to our project!

The whole game contains 5 different endings, with various choices and minigames along the way. Set in the world struck by pandemic, you are a father with wife and child in the last city to be stricken by the virus. People started doubting one another, your family is starving as day goes by, the streets are gradually filled with coughing and screaming infected patients... * Do you want to survive or die? * What or who do you want to save? * Your family? The whole world? The virus? * Or just witness complete eradication of humanity?

You have 5 days, make your choice now keep "it" alive...!

Please support our team!

Hard to say how successfully it went, considering that this is our first Ludum Dare and Game Jam... Still I hope you can give it a try, we look forward to all of your feedbacks, let us know so that we can fix it afterwards into a real project.

We will start playing as many games in this jam as we can, starting now. Honestly I feel so pumped to check out all of them to see what I can learn to bolster my game-making craft !!!

We want to try out your games!

Having quite a lot of business after the jam, but here I am again. Despite being late to the party, we only have more or less 8 days to rate each other. I will try to give my best possible feedbacks to your game. If perhaps you want to try out our game, here is the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/keep-what-alive. Last days effort + Rate exchange

  • 'Been spending the whole proportion of my free time to try out random games out there. Still there are many remaining ones that I was not aware of. 4 days remaining, for the last ditch, I will try out the games you commented (if I haven't already). Please play and leave us a feedback here, we want as many contributions from you as possible since our game is still under huge development process.

LD46_2.png - Keep What Alive - you have 5 days to survive, take care of your family or leave them rot to death, ask politely for food from your neighbor or just steal from them (without being shot), walk down a disease-stricken street and avoid those suspicious coughing lunatics... Or kill them with your hard-earned weapon. Regardless, who you choose to keep alive will lead to a different ending. - You will experience some ambiguity playing our game at first, but still we want you to feel like you can do anything in that world we created. Thanks to those who have commented and let us know that there are still a lot of room for improvement. For others who haven't tried it out,, now is your best chance. Also give us the link to your game also!

SUBERDEEP - what lies beneath the trench?

For some of us, this is the very first game built from top to finish. It turns out making a game is hard. Lots of ideas but only a few made it into the final product. Regardless, it’s what we made and we have the rights to be proud of it!

Your submarine is broken, and it relies on a heavy anchor to drag it to the depth. You can only move up or down and your objective is to stay safe as you go deeper and deeper into the unknown. The fish are vicious and can give you a hard slam. Try to avoid them, use torpedo to clear the path and the flashlight to see in the dark!

Surprises (scary) are waiting for you at the seafloor.

We kindly receive any feedback you have, as for now my team is going to rate other games as well. Leave your game down below and we will surely give it a try!

Suberdeep has its difficulty balanced! Also comment your games down below.

Some players had trouble progressing past 1000 meters depth, so we decided to slow the fish and give the spawn a bit more delay. Hopefully it is easier for you now!

Also, remember to watch out for Chaser (green-colored), you may have diffculty seeing where they are in the dark. I have been trying out a few games to learn from and feedback, and couldn't decide what's up next. Comment your games down below, me and my team will surely give it a try!
