So, after changing my idea after working on my first idea about 4 hours already, I settled to a topdown shooter where you have 10 seconds to complete the level, but every one of your actions (currently shooting and dashing) use up some of your time.
Here is a little Demo of what I got so far:

What I’m happy about:
– Implemented the basic gameplay.
– I think the timer looks nice.
– Avoided real art, like the simplistic art style so far.
– All values in the game are fully configurable, wich makes finetuning really easy
What I’m not so happy about:
– Still not sure if the player should pay time dynamically or chose his skills before playing a level and have the time paid beforehands as well. (Got to check how long that would take to implement tomorrow)
– Not sure if I’m able to get it finished during compo-time, but I would be okay with switching to the jam.
Things I got to do tomorrow:
– Decide what features are the core gameplay.
– Decide on the time payment method and go with it.
– Make Start, Menu and End screen.
– More levels, I guess.
– Make more interesting player skills and enemies.
– Throw in some music and/or sound effects
Good Luck for the upcoming day(s) everybody, keep having fun, make awesome games!
