WOOOO! This will be my first Ludum Dare, my first game jam, and (hopefully) my first finished game. Honestly, I just started learning how to make games a few months ago. My goal is to FINISH SOMETHING! I'm excited, nervous, and a bit intimidated. Lessssssgoooooooo!
The time is currently 4:23AM, I'm 9 hours into the jam. I have made decent progress so far. I ran into some stupid bugs early on, but I have the core mechanics of my game programmed and pretty much all of my ideas mapped out. It's getting hard to concentrate, so time to take a 3hr nap. Reading a few posts from other jammers has done well to keep my spirits high, so thank you guys! I hope development is coming along well for you all. Good night and good luck!

Well.. it crashed. It is literally the first time GM Studio has ever crashed on me, and of course its during Ludum Dare. Thank goodness I have been backing up fairly well and I only lost a couple of animations. It's still frustrating, but I must PRESS ON! Back up your files people, pleeeeaaaaassseeee.
I have created my first video game ever! HOLYSHIT does that feel good. My body, however, does not feel so great and my brain isn't exactly working right. It was super stressful in the last hours, and I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to finish. I will definitely post some thoughts tomorrow after I have had some time to recover. Good job everyone, you guys are awesome and I can't wait to see what you've all created and play your games!!
Hey jammers! It seems that the only games that I can really access are the most recent submissions. I think this is really unfortunate, because I'm missing out on like all of the compo submissions and so many other thousands of great games that weren't submitted the most recently. Also, other people will have the same difficulty finding my game link. So I would like to make a post with a link to my game, and I would really like it if you guys would post a link to your game in the comments so that I can play a more diverse group of games. I know judging hasn't started yet, but with over 2900 game submissions I gotta start playing now! Great job over the weekend everyone. I had a blast and I loved seeing all of the beautiful and creative things people came up with.

so the results are in, but i know there are some issues with a DoS attack. are these correct? there is a 2 in humor. does that mean 2nd place?! that cant mean 2nd place can it??
Everyone names their .exe and data files LD38. This is fine when its the only file named that on your computer, but when I download everyones games I end up with like 60 files named LD38. I even had issues where i lost files and couldnt figure out where the game i just downloaded went because it merged with another data folder with the same title. I would recommend just naming your files the same as the title of your game, that way it is much easier for the end-user to navigate their folder of LD games.
