This is my announcement and it is my first Ludum Dare. I’m scrambling to brainstorm a concept right now so I hope it comes soon! Good luck everyone!

So, I was pretty lost for a while yesterdays but I finally managed to gather myself and think of a concept. I will be be interpreting “beneath the surface” to mean that things aren’t always what they are perceived to be. I am making an adventure-style side-scrolling game that follows a man’s reaction to his wife being murdered.

Tools that I’m using:

– Dreamweaver

– Photoshop

– Javascript

-HTML5 Canvas

Here is the first scene that I managed to get done last night. The character’s movement and animation is working as intended and the framework for the game is pretty much set.

Beginning scene… man’s house.

I have a lot of work to get done today, beginning with my art assets and backgrounds. Update soon.
