Looks Like I’m In!

Hopefully I will be able to finish the game in time! (Or finish it without too many bugs)

Tools all Set

I have my tools working and ready. Still not sure on the programming language though…

  • Either using Java or D for a programming language(I haven’t decided)
  • Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 Precise Pangolin for my OS
  • Gimp for graphics
  • SFXR for audio
  • Compo here I come!

Final Decision

I’ve made a decision on what I’m using!

  • Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 Precise Pangolin for my OS
  • Java as my language of choice (no external libraries)
  • OpenJDK 6 as my JDK
  • Gimp for graphics
  • SFXR for audio

I may possibly have a chat channel going during development. No live-stream. Time-lapse video will be made. Details here!

Starting Late

I just realized that I have work tonight until 10…

The compo starts around 9. It’ll take about a half an hour to close up shop, and about 10 minutes to get home. I will be able to start around 10:40. I’ll just have to work faster!

Right on Schedule

I just finished building the engine for the game. It’s about 3:30 AM here and I think I should go to bed. I’ll build the game tomorrow….

Got a Game Working! (Somewhat)

I have the game engine finished, main menu done, about menu done, exit button working, splash screen, etc. However, game still kinda not working (for the most part).

Finish Game Idea & Mechanics

I finished building the core of the game. All that’s left to do is build the levels and enemies. Here’s the story:

Oh no! This cute little jellyfish is lost in a tiny world! Help him teleport through different dimensions to get home!

Coming Along Nicely!

I’ve gotten a lot of things done in the last few hours. here’s a look 😉

This is written entirely in java. No libraries. No pre-built codes or engines.

Creepy…

I’ve officially decided that my game is creepy…

Livestream!

Hello fellow coders! I’ll be doing a livestream at join.me/worldofzak! Check it out!

Almost Done With Some Stuff!

I just finished writing the majority of the engine for my game. It currently can load audio and images, handle FPS with accurate timing, can switch between scenes, and can take in keyboard input. All I need to do now is make mouse input possible and write the game!

[Insert Generic “I’m in” Post]

Judging by the title, you can guess that I’m in. Not sure on anything that I’ll be using yet. However, I will be live streaming again. I’ll update later when I have some sort of idea what I’m going to use. Maybe HTML5, or Java, or Assembly! Who knows!

Da Vinci Corde is out!

leotitre

Hi everyone ! Our entry, Da Vinci Corde, is out !

Da Vinci Corde is a puzzle game in which you, the player, have to complete Leonardo’s inventions by pulling and tying ropes. Will you be able to match the inventor’s genius?

DaVinciCorde_menuSMALL

This was my girlfriend’s first game jam (and first game at all in fact). She did the art, I did the code. For a first timer, the result is pretty decent don’t you think ? 😉

Do not hesitate to give  the game a try !

DaVinciCorde_inGameSMALL

Good luck for the end of the jam everyone !

Much love
