10,001 - A space exploration game

Enjoy exploring the universe in my atmospheric space exploration game. There is no win objective. Just you. Your spaceship. And the universe.

The feedback from everyone has been great. The reception I have received about the atmosphere I have created in 10,001 has been overwhelmingly positive. Music and sound design is not my strong suit so I set out this Ludum Dare to put more effort toward those aspects of my submission.

I was also determined to finish within 48 hours to submit to the compo this time. So it was a challenge to create such an experience for me. A large chunk of my development time was dedicated to tweaking the sound and music to create the perfect ambience for my universe.

Although I spent more time on the music and sound design than I anticipated and wasn't able to complete everything that I originally wanted to implement in the game. Originally I wanted to create more areas to find and explore which would have made exploring a bit more rewarding.

One of the main feedback advice I receive from players is adding some sort of navigation that points the player in the right direction. Unfortunately I ran out of time, and couldn't full implement the coordinate system that I wanted. So I've provided some coordinates for players to check out in game.

Hopefully taking these coordinates with you on your journey will provide you with a more enjoyable experience.

Thank you everyone who has played and rated my game so far. The feedback has been amazing for my first compo submission and I couldn't be more grateful.

Fertilizer and rootexturing

The Android port is coming along nicely, so I'm taking some time to add new features to the game (that I plan to release at the end of the rating period if all goes according to plan)

Just added some fertilizer pockets that boost you when you go through them, should add some spice and strategy !

Card Sleeves for Prototypes and Print & Play and Importing to Tabletop Simulator

If you're a more audio/visual sort of person, I've highlighted this segment from a recent Twitch stream in which I discussed how I use card sleeves with backers for prototyping and talked a bit about importing assets into card faces in Tabletop Simulator.

Swing Shroom! Squashing bugs & adding features

If you haven't already, try out our game Swing Shroom! You play as a rope-slinging mushroom on a quest to the forest floor.

We're working on a post-jam version of the game with features like bug fixes, timer, death counter and intro cutscene to expand upon the lore of Swing Shroom. Comment with a feature you'd like to see us add!

Can you beat our developer speedrun?

Can you beat our time? (It's harder than it looks)

We designed our game to have a lot of room for skips and speed. Check out our speedrun below! If you want to try beating our time checkout the speedrun version with a timer and no checkpoints (https://matterlinx.itch.io/rabbit-rappel-for-speedruns)!

Some inspirational quotes from our leaderboard

We made an experimental social game where people can revise (or completely butcher) inspirational quotes, which are then rated by other people. These are some of the gems that have emerged so far:

The Long Loneliness - LD48 Time-lapse :D

Ay Oh! Wanted to share with you the timelapse of the creation process of my entry game, The Long Loneliness. This is actually the first time I'm doing something like this, so I hope it's not very bad looking, haha

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7LBUuLq950 ...If you would like to support me with a view and a like it would be amazing <3

All I need (is love) is 3 more ratings for my tiny dungeon crawler/puzzle game

hi there!

I made a tiny dungeon crawler/puzzle game and I still need about 3 or 4 ratings to reach the 20 required, so if you want you can play it here : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/dungeon-slide

It’s a fun little puzzle game where you move by sliding from a wall to another (like this old mini-game in Pokémon)

I tried to put more time in game feel and polish than I did on my previous LD (this one is my second), I hope you'll like it.

If you play the game, I would love some more feedback!

About the game :

  • The number of tiles you cover define your attack power
  • You can kill ennemies by having more attack power than they have shield
  • The game features 9 levels to play (10-15min of gameplay) thanks, and congrats for your entries too :)

Thanks again :)

Reports from BO-12 suggest being near minimal rating capacity!

Deep BO-12 - A Jam entry that i made with @j4 - has almost enough ratings to get a score!

If you like FPS games with grappling hooks - here's one created in 72 hours during the Jam. We've poured a lot of work & love into it, and we'd love to see you all play and - hopefully - enjoy it!

While we're at it, here's the super-awesome portal opening that i'm really proud of, and you can experience it at the end of the game:

Better instructions for The Bonekest Dungeon

Finally, our team updated the insturctions for the game. It's a shame that we couldn't provide our game with a proper UX during the jam. However, we try our best to explain the rules of the Bonekest Dungeon!

What's a cool moment from your game?

One of my favourite things to add into games are moments that are just there to make the player feel cool. A setup for a cool combo, or maybe a combat arena that's more style over substance, anything like that.

3f011.png

For my game, Hellfall, there's loads of little moments like this, but one of the first ones was in our second level. We have sections later where the player has to chain jumps between enemies to clear platforming challenges. But, to hint at that long , I added this little combo opportunity.

LD48em-/emKey_Moment-1.gif

It's optional, and a little tricky. But when you pull it off? MAN does it feel cool!

3f011.png

If you haven't already please play and rate Hellfall here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/hellfall-1 This has been one of my most successful Ludum Dare entries, and I'd love to see how far we can push it!

So, what cool moments do you have in your game? I'd love to see some!

Financial Depths - Economic Horror I've been told

*It is NOT a horror game.

Deep in Dept taken literally! Financial Depths

This is a sort of survival game where you try to pay all your bills, while obviously being unable to pay them. Live on borrowed money! But how long can that last :credit_card: :fearful:

fdepthgif2.gif Game has 25 weeks and then a infinite progression for high scores and depts.

Ive now adjusted things so you can manage many cards and bills (scroll them when you have too many) should fix being unable to click the right thing.

Also showing my record week 38! for the competitive folks

let me know what you think!

Thank you!

Hello There!

If you haven't already and you have some time please give my game a go and any feedback would be amazing.

Just added optimization update[v1.1] - 27500m Drop

Hey,

Just added optimization update - looks like rendering 160 elements is slower than rendering just 7:open_mouth: Now the game should run no problem on business laptops that are about 5 yrs old. I tested it on one that is this age and it went from 10 FPS on original build to constant 60 FPS on the optimized one. screenshot2.png You can check out my game at: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/27500m-drop

More in-depth devlog is on its way
