Boomsticks post-jam improvements!

Thanks to everyone that has played my game so far, especially those who had some great ideas to improve the game!

Some of the stuff that has been improved: * Bigger explosions :boom: * Made throwing guns easier * Zoomed out the camera so more can be seen at once * Reduced the size of the arena to increase enemy density * Visual and audio indicator when your gun is about to explode * All guns buffed slightly * And many other little changes...

Overall not very significant changes, but it should be more fun and easier to play now :)

LD51 Music Covers

Hello LDfam! I had fun playing and rating your games. I'm one of the programmers of Beardadette and The Eternal Hiccup and I only had around an hour during lunch to make music for our game. ( Yes, I made the music while eating :D).

After the jam, I had this feeling, I wanted to make more music. So, I picked a few games that have fairly short music and covered them. Enjoy!

A Question about Ratings

Can I opt-out our lowest category of ratings to get a better average rating/overall rating? I just found our game have no any expression of humor but we have opened the humor category.

Any particularly cool soundtracks?

deploy helper bot artwork.png

As a music composer/audio designer, I get excited to hear all the different soundtracks my pears make during game jams. Anybody have some music they made for this LD that they'd care to share? Or any games people have played that are especially worth checking out for their audio?

I made a sort of throwback synth-wave track for our game "> deploy helper bot" that is sneakily dynamic: the music only progresses from one looping section to the next as the player reaches new parts of the level by solving puzzles. This hopefully makes the music feel less repetitive and it always ramps up appropriately no matter how fast the player progresses through the game. It's discreet and simple, but works quite well I think.

You can listen to a linear version of my track here: https://on.soundcloud.com/PtRET

And of course try out the game here for the true experience: https://ldj.am/$297278

And please link me to any games or soundtracks I should be checking out!

Our Relic Pool in Smash Hit!

If you thought the relics being randomly chosen looked a little too similar, here is why! Set 1 is fairly easy for the new player, but it starts getting very difficult very fast, especially with the second hammer!

Checkout this cool game from the jam -- Must Try!!

With the advancement of technology like AR/VR and meta around the corner, I am very happy to see people incorporating the same in gaming. Kudos to the developer of thinking of such an game in the theme and limited time. Would also share this game with others to motivate such devs in making games in advance Technology.

What game ideas do you guys can think??? Feel free to share in comments!! https://ldj.am/$306775

Small update to Gelato Drift

We've created a small update to Gelato Drift. As pointed out by some people, it's possible to end up in a infinite cycle of deliveries that won't get any harder. This makes it possible to have very high scores on the leaderboard, depending on how much time you're willing to invest. 😅 Screenshot 2022-10-12 235742.png

We've increased the map size a bit, and preventing recently visited customers to request ice cream again too quickly. This should make the leaderboards more fair! We're keeping all the old scores in a seperate leaderboard still accessible in-game. All other stats are unaffected. The original version will remain playable (including leaderboards) in case anyone wants to play that instead. 🙂

What changes can I make during rating period?

I know I can fix bugs and cannot add new features. I saw some blog posts about updating game, some of them are not exactly fixing bug but making the game feels better.

So can I: 1. Update main menu or game over scene ? 2. Update lighting or sprite ? 3. Add a tutorial scene? 4. Add new sound effect ?
