Praise for "A Day in the Life of Death"

We're really glad to hear that everyone has been enjoying our narrative-driven game about the Grim Reaper so far!

This one was really fun to work on, especially writing all of the dialogue. There were a lot of different scenes and pieces, so I'm glad we managed to stitch it all together somehow (after a lot of hard work...).

Y'all got any more of them ideas?

We really liked working our game Don't let them bug you, but we recognize some of its flaws as well. Many of you have already given some great feedback on what to improve and how to polish the experience.

However I was wondering if you had any ideas on what features to add? Maybe more towers? What types, how do they interact with the game? Maybe completely new mechanics? Feel free to share those ideas as well!

Cheers!

30ratings_96.gif

We're excited to see that The Time Traveler's Garden has received 30 ratings and counting. Thank you to all of you who have played and shared your feedback!

This has been a really fantastic first Ludum Dare for our team, with some very encouraging and constructive comments. 30 ratings might not be breaking any records, but we're still very proud nonetheless to have been able to create what we did within the timeframe. I think there's a very strong possibility that we might take our game further in the future!

While this is our first Ludum Dare, it's certainly not our first game jam. We've done our own personal jams just for fun, and we participated in a couple of GMTK game jams, but I think this one in particular is far and away the most positive experience we've had. I certainly hope to be able to participate in more LDs to come!

If you're reading this, we hope you might check out our game if you haven't already!

what my teammates assembled in engine

ver3-1.png

Why, of course it has to be built on some weird solution because it's faster that way. And of course a bunch of code needs to be rewritten to make it look how I want it to look... And I can't code... Still managed to somewhat salvage it though!

Turns out dropping visuals and doing mostly text wouldn't be much easier lol. Go figure!

And if you're wondering what is going with this alphabet soup here, check out our text-based farming sim!

Thanks to everyone who tried Flavors of Victory!

:joystick: You can check out our little strategy game here!

We've had a lot of ratings and some really great feedback on our game Flavors of Victory which mixes strategy with... well, cooking I suppose. So, to celebrate, here's the full background art from @gormand-a with parts you can't see in the game! It was drawn on paper and almost ruined by an apple juice spill.

This sepia harvest festival is making me all warm and fuzzy, don't you want to jump in and buy that pumpkin? :jackolantern:

Having played the game for a few hours now tbh, dont judge we really liked it! Id say again its my favorite entry and i really loved it!

That's deeper than I thought. 🤔

Fantastic. Love the use of music for sound effects. Love the dark turn.

I really enjoyed the gameplay and the twist when you just [REDACTED]. The art is super cute and the music to match it. I just love the overall vibe of the game. Great work!

Yeah my strategy was also to cull them down!

TitleCardSmall.png

This is my fifth LD, and I had a rather pleasant and smooth experience, despite being at a really dark place going into it; perhaps that comes through in the end...

I still need to learn to let go certain things that I thought would be really cool to implement, but end up taking a lot of time, or could be done in a simpler way, but still get the point across. This is especially true for my first attempt at using 3D camera and layout in the third minigame. I really want to go for a striking, almost VR-like experience, to really make the player feel immersed in, and a part of what they are doing, in contrast to the previous two games, but jeez... 3D cameras are a nightmare.

Ultimately, what I wanted to create this time round was a Game For Good, a game that increases goodness in the world. Thanks to everyone who's played it for all of the love and positivity, you've really made me feel like I was successful in that regard; it means a great deal.
