Programmer-artist duo looking for sound designer/composer!

Hey there, we're a team of 2 (programmer and artist) from the US looking for a :notes: sound designer/composer to work with!

  • Our previous game jam game: https://wedgiebee.itch.io/skeeter

  • My previous work (programmer): https://wedgiebee.itch.io/
  • Artist's previous work: http://artofjquinn.com/

We like making :sparkles::rainbow: gay things :rainbow::sparkles: so if that's your jam hit us up! wedgiebee on twitter :)

Oh dang, is it that time again already?

I don't know how much time I'll have this weekend, but I had fun with LD 48, and like to take another stab at the 48-hour compo. I'll be reusing my LD 30 framework (https://www.piratehearts.com/files/LD48Base.zip).

I actually really like this Final Round! Unstable and Decay both made it (I'm rooting for Unstable) and everything else is pretty good for the most part. I'm just hoping the theme isn't Keep Your Distance (I predict half-COVID games) or One Tool, Many Uses (I'd be too tempted to make a serial killer game). The Environment Changes You could be interesting, but I know I'd just make some cheesy visual novel or narrative about character development.

Yes, I know the title is "Pretty Satisfied" and most votes are red. It's the Final Round, it's time to be critical.

Less than two days until Ludum Dare 49! I might miss the first few hours of it and that could force me to do the Jam instead of the Compo, but I'll make something regardless, even if my schedule goes wild and I can only make a game in a few hours. Best of luck, everyone!

Final Round - LD 49 - Vote for Delivery!

Are we going to try something outside the world of programming, math and game jam games?

Maybe make a Death Stranding tribute, or an even better Death Stranding, proposing something more radical for "delivery" than what Hideo Kojima did... Or a journey similar to The Messenger... Or a pythonesque view of the reality of delivery Pizza and Uber Eats workers during the pandemic...

... Shall we try something different and uncomfortable?

Finally get another chance at Ludum Dare

Damn, its been a while since I've gotten to do one of these but I actually have a weekend off going into it so that be exciting to do again.

This'll be a good refresher for the unity engine and hopefull I'll create something you all like!

I'm hopefully in!

As usual I'm attempting to clear out most of my weekend schedule to make sure I have plenty of time for Ludum Dare. As always, I'll be participating in the Compo. I'm glad to see it wasn't removed after LD48.

The classic tool list: - Godot. I still haven't built any C base code to use, so I'm sticking with Godot. - Aseprite if I do pixel art. - Inkscape for vectors. - GIMP for misc image editing. - Blender, maybe. I've been using it for pixel art recently, it is a very interesting workflow. - Audacity for recording and sound editing. - LMMS for music. I may get Ableton one of these days, but not yet. - Git, I guess - itch.io for hosting. For a while I never bothered using it. If you don't use itch.io I recommend it for the sole reason of seeing your download number go up

Unfortunately I did not really bother to vote in the first three rounds. Maybe I'll manage to do the final round at some point.

Good luck to everybody!

I made a wallpaper! Tenth time's the charm (?)

I'm in!... I think? I just started a new job and I don't quite know their policy on weekend work yet, so there's a chance I might have to cut this one short. But in the meantime, have a couple of wallpapers inspired by my favorite Australian psychedelic/prog/thrash/spaghetti western band!

We're in and we're ready

Well this is going to be good. First LD I've entered as a team, I'm sure we'll make something great and hopefully we come out of this in one piece.

Dev tools I'm using will be: - Unity as the engine w/ URP. - Blender for the modelling. - Pixlr for image editing. - Trello for project management. - Stacket for task management.

Still not sure on how sounds and music will work their way in but the options are endless so that'll be fine.

Themes I'm loving the look of are "One tool, many uses", "The environment changes you" and "Strength in numbers".

Wow, the themes are so INCREDIBLE

Earlier I joked about the themes being good, but you know what? These final themes are actually incredible! I feel confident I could make a game on any of these, and none of them feel unfair to less experienced devs.

Best thing about the batch is how different the themes are from previous LDs, no spin offs on previous themes and the themes actually constrain you unlike ‘start with nothing’.

I’m just hyped to get a good theme :v:

I am in

Last jam before LD50, here's to hoping I can get better at putting together a complete game before then!

I'll be using Godot for gaem, Aseprite/Gimp for art, https://www.beepbox.co/ or LMMS for music, and coffee for awake (I'll try to keep a good sleep schedule but no guarantees)

I am in!

Been waiting for this for a while. Took the weekend off for this. So let's do this. Good Luck to you all!

I plan to work with @genie as usual, perhaps @bcav if he changes his mind.

Tools:

  • Replica Framework 1.3
  • HTML, JavaScript, jQuery
  • ChipTone + BeepBox
  • Krita + paint, ink, and colored pencils.

Replica Framework was born in the crucible of the Nanna project (LD48). It is being fleshed out in game jams of various ilk. Shadow Diamonds, a simple Web game that takes less than five minutes to play, is one of its more successful incarnations.

Good luck everyone!

Mandatory post

You know, you know, I'm in.

It's been like, 3 years I couldn't do it. But this time, I will. And this time with a game engine. (And hopefully in 3D, but... well we'll see...)

Tools: Godot, Blender, FLStudio and Photoshop.

I hope you all will have a great time!

Let's go LD49!

I'm very anxious to the Ludum Dare 49. Good Jam for all of us!

wack wack

Haven't participated in a couple years, and the times I have I've never submitted. Gonna shake that trend this year!
