LD36 August 26–29, 2016

I’m in!

Plans change, I wasn’t supposed to take part this time, but sometimes the pieces fall in a way that makes other stuff possible!

So yay! I’m in again!

It’s very likely I’ll be using Phaser, and if you also would like to use Phaser, feel free to use my template that will help you set up an auto-building project easily. You can find it in https://github.com/hunttis/phaser-ld-template. I just updated it to use the latest Phaser (2.6.1)

joining in my first ludum dare

Unity / C# is pretty much all i can do at the moment. (still a newb even with that 😀 )

made few games before, but will be interesting to take on making a game in like, 2 exact days. especially since im quite slow to begin with, i guess this will be good practice for me.

my goal is basically to learn a lot, since im still in my learning phase.

Rotund table is in the works

This is our first jam and wow I have no idea what I’m doing, but we’re a-rarin to go

and lets go!!!

I’m in!

This will be my second LD :3

I’ll be using:

  • Elicpse (Java IDE)
  • Paint.NET (Graphics)
  • SFXR (Sound Effects)
  • FL Studio (Audio)

This will be my first LD. Jumping straight into the compo.

I’m in.

First time, always wanted to participate. Probably will use HTML5 but I might do Unity instead depending on the theme.

I use GIMP/Inkscape for all my graphics needs. I can’t draw so I tend to go for a minimalist style, which sometimes turns out good, other times not so much. See for yourself.

I’m in!

I’m going to participate in this Ludum Dare (Compo). I hope I’ll find good idea for my game.

I’ll be using:

  • Unity as my game engine
  • C# as my programming language
  • maybe Zenject as DI framework
  • VS for coding on my PC or VS Code on my Mac (it has pretty good integration with Unity using OmniSharp VSCode plugin and VSCode package (available at Asset Store))
  • Aseprite for graphics (if I decide to make pixel art), or Inkscape + GIMP
  • (B/S/C/US)fxr for sound effects
  • GarageBand for music

Ludum Dare PSA – Feedback & Trophies

Hello again! It’s that magical time of the year again where we gather from around the world to make videogames in an unreasonably short amount of time.

As you may already know, this time around there are no ratings, which means, you’re going to have to rely entirely on feedback and criticism to know how you did.

So, are user comments the only way to receive feedback for your game? NOPE! In fact, there is one long-forgotten feature that has existed on this site since the dawn of time itself – Trophies!

Trophies are awarded from one user to another and appear on your profile page for everyone to see.

ld trophies

This Ludum Dare, let’s make an extra effort to give every game the attention and feedback it deserves. Although ratings are gone this time, we can still be an active, constructive community. And if someone did really well – let’s give them a shiny trophy.

Anyone can award a trophy to anyone, so we thought – why not have some fun with it? @Mati_Ernst even made a bunch of trophies in preparation for the Jam – feel free to share them around and award them to anyone you see fit:

I’m in (for the 11th time)

About three years ago I joined Ludum Dare for the first time. I had never finished a game before and had little to no knowledge. Thanks to Ludum Dare I discovered an amazing community and fell in love with gamedev. Since then I have been working non-stop, joined dozens of jams and even became a full-time indiedev, something that makes me start every day with a smile on my face.

This is going to be my 11th Ludum Dare, haven’t missed one since I started and I’m as excited as the first time. I would like to make something a little bit more action-packed than what I usually do, but I would also like to make something that encourages players to be more creative, who knows what we’ll make once the theme is announced?

This time I’ll be joining the jam (instead of the compo) along Oluwa(art) and Celer(music & sound), so I’ll take care of design and code. We’ll jam in the same place as other local gamedevs who we know, so I’m sure it’ll be really fun.

I can’t wait for it to start, but I’m equally excited about watching McFunkypants‘ keynote video. If you aren’t sure about joining in just forget all those excuses and get your tools ready. This weekend there will be lots of creative moments, brainstormings, bugs and crashes, but at the end of it, we’ll have a new game finished.

Best of luck to everyone! I’ll be sharing my progress on twitter, don’t forget to upload gifs! I want to see what you come up with :-)

P.D.: If you think you can’t join the jam because you aren’t skilled enough you should know that’s a really bad excuse ;-P

Joining up!

This is my first LD, so I’m very excited. I’m gathering The Goat Team to make something nice.

We’ll be using Unity 3D, Maya and lots of energy drinks!

LD 36 is almost upon us and we’re in!

Hello folks,

This is going to be our third ludum dare and even though we won’t have as much time as usual for this LD we are very excited and hope to have some fun. We hope you will as well.

Good luck, everyone!

We’re in

We’re going to participate in our first Ludum Dare.

Good luck everyone :)

My first :)

In for my first LD. Hopefully my friend can also help with the art for his first time too!

Good luck to all!

The Legion will have to wait… I need to make a game!

For the past few weeks I have been fighting off invasions in the world of Azeroth but my brothers and sisters in arms are going to have to do without me this weekend as I have game to make!

I’ll be using Unity and I’m thinking of trying to make a game just using the new Unity UI. It will most likely be some type of text based game with buttons but if that fails then I’ll fall back on a 2D style game. It could be strategy or adventure, this will depend on the theme. So good luck to all of you who enter!

Yeah I’m working to finish alts off before LD starts, too. Whether I participate (will be my 2nd if so), or give up and simply watch my favorite devs stream their work, the other Heroes of Azeroth will have to fight the Invasion without me. Hyped for LD :)
