and rate your games as well 😉

It turned out as more of a proof of concept for a rpg with minigames, as playing the guitar rhythm game is the only fun thing to do as of now. But we are planning to turn this game into a full-blown rpg with multiple zones, character customization, different minigames, gaining exp, leveling up and all these kind of elements! This is why we would appreciate it, if you would let us now what you think about the game mechanics and design so far and how it performs on you mobile devices.

Regarding the theme we ended up loosly combining the ideas of a rpg with a rhythm minigame. On a music-level, we contrasted the calming ambient sound of the overworld with the guitar metal track in the rhythm game.
This marks the fourth time we participated in the ludum dare game jam and ironically this time we were "only" four people working on the game opposed to nine team members last time 😅 But more about that in our post-mortem. *One of us, Hybitous, even made a video documentary about our experience with LD40, check it out ! *

We have first feedback on our game. Thank you a lot for this!

It's called StarClick! Check it out. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/starclick

So I played 10 games for now in this Ludum Dare, and I found so many good games, and I'm going to talk here about the most ones that I loved!
So this game has a pretty good unique idea : virtual pet + shoot'em up! Even if it becomes repetitive, it's still a solid and a funny entry.
Well this game, is made by the winner of the last Ludm Dare. But this one got me. The concept is really cool and unique : you play basketball using a sort of programming language. And the pixelart is for another time 😗!
Well the themes is not there but it have leaderboards and its an FPS game!
What do you think about these ones? If you think your game is good to be in another post post the link in the descriptions below!
* Try the best game ever here! XD *
A few days after the jam and I finally wrote my postmortem for Delve! It ended up quite long so I posted it on my blog instead. Please check it out here.
I really wanted to upload a proper gif for the game but my recording software makes it look like it's running too slow or too fast. Sometimes, you'll just teleport in the gif. I don't know why. This one's probably the closest to a good one albeit still terrible. * *The gif's speed is not representative of the actual game's **!

For those who have played and rated the game and gave feedback, thank you so much! Do forgive me for not rating any games yet; I'm still feeling a bit terrible from the jam. I will start rating games now.
If you haven't played yet, please do try Delve! Feedback is definitely appreciated. :)
We had a bug with the starting of the timer in some cases.
It is now fixed and we would be happy if you check it out :)

Finally got around to finishing the Web version of my game - and I'd love to hear your feedback! (Whether that's bug reports or ideas!)
Realm Guard is a card based tower defense game in which you must hold off 20 waves of attackers using a deck of towers that you can play on your turn. It's got a unique twist on the tower defense genre by having purchasable towers become cards, which can be drawn multiple times in the game - so saving up for a powerful tower can help you out repeatedly, but might cause you to have to use weaker towers in the mean time...
Can you beat all 20 waves? Find out here!

Thanks for over 100 views on itch, try my game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/daunting-dungeon

How the Compo Went:
I recently started to learn Java in an effort to enhance my developer skills. I was previously familiar with C# and Python for all of my previous personal projects, apps, and games. Since LD41 was right around the corner I decided to use that as my fuel to learn enough Java to kickstart my knowledge.
The entire week before the Compo I was dissecting open source projects to learn how they composed their games, what libraries to use, and ways to handle the screen, etc. I found it hard to find consistent information that was transferable from tutorial to tutorial to whatever else as you had to build your base and everyone did it differently.
Somehow I managed to come up with a game for the theme which was to simulate the opening of loot boxes. So a simulation game. I then added how to get currency to open said boxes by adding in the second genre of a clicker game. The first day was entirely learning how to setup the screen, the buttons, and managing the data. The second day was fighting with how the images are displayed, adding effects, music, sound, and drawing the images used.
I'm not proud of the game itself, but I am proud that I made something okay with next to no Java experience by myself in 48 hours.
Is it allowed to make "balance-changes" to your game? I agree with the most comments on my game that say it is too easy - so i changed two variables to make the game more challanging. Can i put up a secondary link to the updated version or is it against the rules (as it isn't a bug fix)?
Hey guys and girls, are you looking for a game that is different, unique and fun? You have come to the right place. Taste the game and let us know what you think.

This was supposed to be the biggest night of your life.
After years of playing in leaky basements and birthday parties, your band "Groove Melon" finally has its first big concert. But a few minutes before the show, you get hit in the head and forget all the lyrics to your songs.
The crowd is screaming as the band starts to play. Better think of something quick!

For my sixth Ludum Dare, I created a text-based music improvisation game called Crowdsurf.
You play a band's lead singer who has forgotten the lyrics to his songs during a concert. It's your job to come up with new lyrics that match the original themes of your songs.
I had an absolute blast developing Crowdsurf, and it's received very positive reviews so far! Check it out here.
