In the past weeks we all have played a lot of games. These are my favourites:

- Driven Round the Loop

In this game some cars and other traffic are stuck in looping roads. You can set jump marks to let them change the road to solve given tasks. Always remember: The task matters - nothing more! A funny game with nice graphics.

- Despaiship

The task is easy. Keep the airship floating for a minute. Earlier clones of you will help to fix all the failures and problems caused by sudden events. Just don't block yourself! This game is balanced perfectly, has cool graphics and sounds as well as really nice scene cuts.

- Hope/Remember

Hope is a girl at your school and possibly your date for a school's party. It should be obvious what to to... A story telling RPG with another layer of challenge. Really good audio and neat graphics.

- Gravitron - 2047

Neonlight, Particles and glowing enemies - a cool FPS. Just that you can't shoot. At least no bullets. Use the gun to set "fusionpoints" and let the objects attract each other. Lauching enemies in the sky in a futuristic city has its own fun! (Oh and you should build this core thing.)

- Purifier

A perfect example on how much a game can be polished. Whilst it's in fact just a topdown shooter the graphics, the UI and the whole background stuff is incredible. A jam game with online highscore?? And settings for so many things??

- Devoured

So this game has some puzzles but they are not really innovative. BUT the mood of this game is extremly good! Ever wanted to see a game where visuals and audio form a atmosphere that leads your way through the game? Well this is the perfect example! Even if there was absolutely no gameplay this would still be a must play. Just put your headphones on and enjoy!

I've seen a few people talking about using https://www.mixamo.com/#/ in LDJam and was curious if this is considered a content generator or an asset library?

It seems it's basically a library of animations and some retargeting features to apply them to different characters. I think most people would agree making 3D animations like these is HUGELY time consuming and a major consideration in making any kind of 3D game during a jam. As such I see a tool like this as totally game changing for the kinds of projects one could consider.

I was just wondering for future jams what the feelings are on using this tool and if using this tool is considered the same as say an asset store animation pack?

This version adds a few sound effects as well as making it possible to aim the melee attack with the mouse! not a lot else though.

Planning on rating another swath of games this weekend...what about you?

I haven't been posting about it a ton, but here's some screenshots from the horror game we made this time around.

It's always hard to self-judge how scary these are, since you're already aware of everything that's going to happen while playing it (what you know can't hurt you, etc). But according to everyone else, the game is "terrifying" and "truly scary"!

This is my second Ludum Dare competition, and as usual I truly enjoyed myself. Last year, I brought things to a close for myself by gathering my thoughts about my experience in a devlog/vlog sort of format.

I did the same this time around and tried to summarize "what it took" to be a solo amateur game developer in this lovely gamejam event. :v:

It was hard to implement the physics in C language from scratch, it took 2 days and...

for the feedback received I will reuse that in a new game, with a procedurally generated universe to explore and colonize!

Heyo ! If you like surprising games, you might like this one ! It's not our first jam but it's still our first LD, and the feedback has been beyond positive, so I'm feeling confident sharing our janitor simulator (with a twist, but I won't spoil eheheh) Some people even said they could smell the potent detergent playing this...
