LD24

I’m a person!

Hello. I’m in for my first LD Jam. I’ve a full time job, and I can’t say that I’ve  ever completed a game before, so I’m going to try and keep things as simple as possible. I don’t plan on losing too much sleep.

I’ll probably be using Ren’Py, but I may switch to Stencyl if I come up with an idea that wouldn’t work as a story-based game.  Art will most likely be made with Sketchbook Pro and GIMP. Music will be made with Audacity and 4 Korg analog synths.

Everyone have fun!

LD26

Yes.

I have clearance from my girlfriend and a short break from my professional duties. I think I can do this now. I will probably use at least one or more of the following software tools at some point during my process: Alchemy, Sketchbook Pro, Pencil, Pixen, Dragonframe, Blender, Renoise, Audacity, Bfxr, and either Love2d or Ren’Py with Sublime Text 2. I also have a Canon XS, a stop-motion stage, a Cintiq, and an analog synth for music. Yeah. It’s on.

I’ll give it another go.

I’ve made two attempts at this before. I’ll just keep at it until I finally succeed. I’ll probably be using love2d, or possibly Corona SDK depending upon what my idea is. I think I would like to try producing graphics by taking photographs of found objects and editing them in GIMP. For music I have a midi controller, an analog synth, and a copy of Renoise. Good luck to all.

Still life with workstation.

Mac mini with an old Wacom Cintiq, a Korg Monotribe, and an AKAI MPK mini. I’ve also set up my stop-motion stage to serve as a “down-shooter” for photographing graphical elements.

I may have spent a little too much time hashing out ideas last night. After a certain point I decided to sleep on it. I have a number of ideas that utilize similar mechanics, so I’m just going to get started and hope that something crystalizes. First: coffee.

I’m late for the comp but not the jam. So far I’ve learned a lot about how much I don’t know. I’ve switched to using Stencyl and abandoned the photography idea. By tomorrow I should have… something. Note: the image above is not a screenshot, just some art.

I surrender.

With 5 hours remaining it’s becoming clear to me that finishing a playable version of my game in time is unrealistic. I’ve decided to surrender. However, I am very pleased with what I have so far and I intend to finish it.

Tomorrow morning I will get up and complete what I intended to complete today. I will also upload the game and post a full post-mortem. I want to thank the organizers of Ludum Dare for  motivating me to get off my ass and make something. This will be my first playable game!

Now I’m going to go play some games…

LD30

I’ll do it.

I’ve failed three attempts so far, but failure never stopped me before so I’m back again. I’ll be working with a teammate, WerewolfMage, this time around. We’ll be posting our results under our joint account, Arcave. That’s what we like to call our little company.

We’re using the following tools on the software side:

And on the hardware side we have a bunch of toys to play with:

  • Two Macs
  • A Cintiq 21UX
  • A Zoom H4n recorder
  • A Korg Monotribe analogue synth
  • An Akai MPK mini
  • A Roland electric drum kit
  • A mandolin

We want to make a Twine game that’s fully illustrated with clickable image maps and nice ambient background music.

Good luck to all!

Ludum Dare 47

Best of luck to everyone.

I am in. I will be flying solo. I will be using the Godot engine. My strengths are in art and I will lean on my strengths. These are my tools:

  1. Godot Engine 3.2.3
  2. Blender 2.90.0
  3. Krita 4.3.0
  4. SunVox 1.9.5

I may also use other tools, but I'm not sure what will happen.

I love all of you for contributing to this yet again. May your focus be, well, focused!
