LD26

My no entry for LD26, still too slow to coding, next time!

I started to work in “No Time To Stop” near the Ludum Dare 26 and my idea was enter with it but unfortunately no arrived with enough gameplay, still i’m to slow to code :S

At first the game was made using a 16 color palette with a resolution of 120×80 and scaled later to 8x, all very minimalistic, here the first game style.

 

Now my idea is try to do something more colorfull with shadows/lights and glow but keeping the 8x pixel-art, here a screenshot:

Some info about the game:

Resolution: 960×640
Genre: Arcade/Platformer with some logic/puzzles
Platforms: Win,Mac,Linux – Android/iOS – OUYA and maybe GameStick
Engine: Multimedia Fusion 2

And a few days ago the game was uploaded on Greenlight 😉

 

And well I hope code more fast for the next compo or at least enter some fun-playable!.

Upcoming Game: The Running Dead!

The Running Dead is a small game with a high difficulty gameplay on you run to survive from zombies.

To survive you can shoot and jump(or double jump) to avoid the various type of zombies including birds and wolfs(And maybe i add some piranhas)

The GFX are simply dots of 8×8 using a pallete of non-saturated colors all to get the most possible “real” looking for this resolution/style.

Actually the game runs at:
Windows, Mac, Linux, Flash, Android, iOS(iPod, iPhone, iPad) and OUYA.

The overall progress is around 60-70% ans is planned to be released on next month, first on mobiles i guess and later on ouya/deskptop.

Mighty Retro Zero

This will be my next game, called “Mighty Retro Zero” (provisional name).

As you can see the player looks like a minimalistic and pixelated Megaman, and after the Keiji Inafune clone called “Mighty No. 9” well i decide put this name that can be changed in the future.

Mighty Retro Zero – Pang! based level finished

Mighty Retro Zero – Bangai-O Missile Fury inspired level

First, thanks to “Theunlosing Quint” steam user for the idea of a Bangai-O level.

This will be one of the Endless level available in the game. Yes, is a bit hard and challenging but also addictive and fun!!

Mighty Retro Zero – Alpha 0.11 Released!

Mighty Retro Zero is a minimalistic game where you control a tiny player like megaman with full references to old great games using only 8 colors, pixels like punchs and addictive gameplay.

At the moment there are 3 game modes planned: History, Retro levels and Time Attack/Puzzle. Other modes can be added later but at least the game will have the previous ones.

The game is still in development and not have any release date yet.

The game is made using Multimedia Fusion 2.

 

Cool Features


  • Great and addictive levels based on the old greatest hits.
  • Funny encounters with your best characters of all the time.
  • Portals and Jetpacks! :O
  • Launch arrows that stuck on walls to walk/jump over them!.

Side project called: Inkanians

Inkanians is a side project i’m working now at the same time that Mighty Retro Zero. As you can see a total different style Wink .

Inkanians is a puzzle game on control two players at the same time. The basics will be like my first coded game called “Ninja Twins” but the idea is be more accesible/fun, easy, more challeging getting the three stars for each level and maybe some history mode with scrolls to do bigger maps.

My Text and Turn based Pong Theme game

My idea is made a Pong game on you need to move the paddles entering the direction and speed and the ball moving in real time. A Text-Turn based game .

Depending on the speed, you spend a % of energy, so you will need to spend only the necessary to hit the ball.

The one most accuracy in each turn will have more energy to spend and move the paddle every time, but if you waste the energy adding too much speed you soon will get in trouble to not have enough energy to move and hit the ball.

Every turn you will get extra energy and if you end the turn without move you will get bonus energy.

This is an actual mockup of the idea (Click in the image to see the full screen version).

Presing arrows change the paddle direction (Up/Down/Left/Right) and presing the numbers will set the speed and enter will realize the action and will show the energy used (“Player -25%”).

The frictions means how much the paddles will move with a % of energy. With more friction more energy you will need to spend and more shorter will be each point. With a low friction practically with a few speed points you will get from other to the other side.

The gravity is mainly to make the ball more unpredictable(And fun?). Also each Xseconds the speed of the ball will be increased.

Still nothing coded and i don’t know if this will be fun in some way but i guess worth a try, at least for curiosity and well, for participate in my first LDJAM :P .
