Total noob alert!
Hey I just joined, I figure it would help me learn a lot! I’m beginning to grasp C#, via tutorials and such. Unity 3D is the engine I will use… Giants surround me, may I clamber up your shoulders?

I’m going to be in, but for the jam not the compo. I just don’t have the skill to finish a game, since I can hardly figure out how to make a pixel move across the screen. However, I will do my best!!!
I’m going to be using FlashDevelop, FlashPunk, Paint.Net, Gimp2, Ogmo Editor, SFXR.
Onward!!
A bit late, but I’ll post anyway!
I only just started trying to work, and there is no way I will finish in time for the compo, probably not even the jam. Still trying to learn the basics as it is, but I’ll try to have something!!
Took me all night to figure out how to make a background tile! But then I added a castle and a crosshair.
My idea is kind of simple, you are a villain inside the castle, and you have to shoot missiles at the incoming bad..er..good guys and stop them from getting into your castle. I want to add different powerups, enemy types, and that should take me the next 22 hours… hahaha… we’ll see!
I’m finally confident enough to produce a game quickly! I don’t think I’ll do the 48 hour, but the longer jam! Free time still hard to come by…
GLHF to all, and to all a good theme slaughter.
My game idea is that you are a brain, and you manage to get into some ooze in order to move around faster. If you take damage, the ooze flies off of you and eventually you have no more ooze, back to brain form. You can find the ooze gibs laying around and get back to ooze form though. Going to make a few more variations for what the brain can enter (vehicles). That’s my “shapeshifting” piece, I hope the voters approve 😉
Today I wasn't able to do much, wife, kids, and work...
But... I did get a menu system built, where you'll be able to enable/disable sound/music, and also start or exit the game. I've never done that before so that was cool.
I got the player character moving, and shooting. I think I have the gist of my idea ready, and procedural generation will be my help to make sure there is content to fight against.
I need to figure out scaling of enemies (ants) and the player character (weapon strength, life, etc) to ensure some progression is present for the game.
It'll be an action game top down where you try to kill ants that are building nests around your house. The player purchased a mech suit that shrinks down to size, and is blasting those ants to bits, and dropping bombs into their holes, ensuring they never return!
