Game Creating and such
Hi guys,
I have recently signed up for a Ludum Dare account and would like to create some games. Unfortunately, I do not know how to make a game and neither do I know what the topic is. Would I need to download any programme? If so, could you guide me through the programmes needed? Could you also please guide me through this website and give me some tips as I am an avid gamer so that I am able to take part in the challenges that come out? Cheers, MrPoshmanComments

I’d recommend trying Stencyl or Unity. They’re programs that help you make games without having to code everything. Stencyl a really simplified programming system that non-programmers might like. I can program, so I like Unity more.

Haha. You really have just started out, eh? Your question is just funny because the answer is extremely broad. There are tons of ways to make a game. Personally, I use LÖVE, but other people use Game Maker, HTML5, Flash, Unity, C++, Haxe, Construct 2, Python, Twine, Stencyl, the list goes on. Try googling around to find what works for you.

Whoa! You are amazing. You got the desire to create something and it’s great, but in fact you need more. Ordinary when we have created our games, we used an engine like Unity or Stencil – a application in order to link the graphic layer with the code. And for to develop, is needed many many wasted time in order to get the fabulous skill. My friend I recommend to you start with the basics, and if you accept the rules, try to do something using your fire inside you – the passion. Good luck for the next LD ++
