LD26

I’m in (First Timer)

I have been following LD for quite a while now, I just never really joined because I am more Web Development based (HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, etc) then any language that I could really make a game out of. I do know one language, Lua, really well. It’s actually the first language I learned and I have made multiple games/tech demos out of it. So I thought I would attempt to make a game for LD 26 and see how I do.

Anyway, I guess the trend is to add how you will make the game.

Language: Lua

Library: LOVE2D

Graphics: Photoshop, PyxelEdit

Music: FL Studio

Livestream: xSplit Broadcaster on Twitch

Other Support: Red Bull, My Cat, My Mom.

If you want to see what else i’m up to, Follow me on Twitter @NexxCR

I usually talk about developments in Lua that I have been doing on the gaming platform ROBLOX. If not, then I usually ramble.

Hey! I too used to build and script stuff in Roblox! It was lots of fun…

Good luck with your first LD!

LD #26 is almost here, and I’m making some changes.

So if you go back to my original post, I talked about using Love2D as my framework. Well I decided to use a different tool that I just discovered recently. It’s called CraftStudio.

It’s a lot more simplified than Love2D, but that just makes it easier to work with for this. Also, it has a neat multiplayer  studio, so you and your other team can develop together on the same project in the same namespace. Speaking of that, I got my friend Alex to help develop with me, so we will be entering the Jam instead. And we will both be streaming, at least I will, the entire time. Hope to see you all soon! And check out this tool! its FREE for Ludum Dare weekend! and just released beta!.

I am using EGSL, not as polished as Love2d, but it doesnt make you explode your code over 1000000000 needless callbacks to make pong. Dont get me wrong, I have used Love2d since my first LD about 5 years ago, but it really does make things complicated.
