Ludum Dare 37

You learn by PROCESSSSES! P1

Three of us in sunny Southern California are starting off a tad bit late, but already have a solid design and a few very basic outlines in process:

Its going to be a VR “search for the pixel” style game contained within a single room, using what we’ve learned through the super advanced Google Cardboard platform (ITS A BOX FOR YOUR HEAD!) Modeler is madly modeling, coder is badly coding, so I’ll bug them soon as we are slowly pushing out content.

Never Do Yesterday What Should Be Done Tomorrow

48 hours in and about three hours of work complete, that bit that stopped us from actually beginning (LIF!) is well past all of us: food, money, shelter, WOMEN, what are these things to the hardy young developer? Ignoring these tropes of existence, we as the now christened “Too. Busy… Pushing Vertices!” are on our auspices 13t… Err… 14th build! Progress is being made on the environmental / UI design by Mistah Mike Crabbs (who has a brother named Dr. Crabbs… And no, the joke never gets old) and modeling by Mr. Dylan Rintoul (who apparently was smart enough to avoid medieval re-enactment all the way through college.)

Lets see what The Mike has been up to:

Mike SS1

Being put on the spot, he is learning how to define boundaries for VR. He has already accomplished exploration of this very portal like environment, thus my hat is off to our lovely coder.

Dyllaaannnnnn is trying to step away from his The SIMs addiction long enough to create models that are unique for the game:

Stand up lad, him, as he even gave the screenshot a nice title as opposed to making me scour my desktop for a random string of numbers (though Mike is still loved.) Texturing should happen soon and I’ll have something to show.

I’m currently working on creating a thousand little death messages and as I had a special assignment from Murkal Crubbs himself plus a minor life event, am just now stepping back into the game. Regardless, all is going well and even being crammed into a room (virtual or otherwise) each of us is enjoying the company of the other – well worth the time!

More soon my friends!
