LD 39

Sparkling is finished!

Sparkling is a Topdown Survival Arcade game.

Using any skill, moving or being hit drains you energy. You can shoot enemies to collect energy drops, but can you really afford the energy cost? How long can you survive?

Started learning about general gamedev a few months ago. This is mey first Ludum Dare. Took me some good 15+ hours to put this together. Powered with Unity, Blender, BFXR and Photoshop. :)

The game can be played online, or downloaded for Windows, Mac or Linux

Thank you very much!

I had 40 views on my game, and got the 20 ratings. Wasn't expecting all that, thank you very much! Ludum Dare was a great experience, will definitely return.

Sparkling was my first published game with Unity, and I intend to work more on it based on some feedback here and some ideas I have that didn't have time to implement.

I'm exploding of happiness here (and working hard to get more done). Thanks again, and have fun!

LD 40

Ready to Jam!

I'm in for the second time! The first time (LD39) I had a blast, with a very satisfying feedback on my game and getting around 300th position.

Rolling with Unity, Blender, Krita, BFXR, Rezoner/chiptone/bosca ceoil. Good luck and have fun, everyone! :D

Looking for feedback on my game, the Goonisher!

Hi! I completed the game in time, gladly. I had to cut at least half of what I wanted to do because I lost the saturday's evening and whole sunday, but I'm glad with the result, even if it's very simple.

If you wanted to give some feedback, here's the game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/goonisher

Goonisher patched to v1.1! :D

I just patched my game, Goonisher, to add some stuff I had to cut off release because I didn't had enough time and they weren't working properly.

Anyway, here are the news:

  • new usable skills, GooNova (Space key, shoots randomly around you) and GooLauncher (Left-Click, shoots at the mouse pointer) can blow some goos at the cost of some gems. Try to not be greedy :D (I had these skills coded and visually done, but they weren't hitting enemies due to collision problems, so I fixed them)
  • variables balanced to collect a lot more gems and explode a lot more enemies on the fly (now that more enemies can be killed with the skills, I think it's fair to spawn them some more.. just a quick tweak).
  • effects that weren't playing properly (like explosions on kill) now do show as they should (pool problem fixed)

16 ratings for my game Goonisher, almost there :D

Thanks for everyone who played, commented and/or rated my game Goonisher! Got 16 ratings so far, pretty satisfying to see. =]

Tried to make a WebGL version, but it gets too slow when there are hundreds of enemies. I guess the physics usage right now is too big. Gotta keep the standalone version only, for now.

Anyway, thanks again!

drop a comment and I'll rate your game back!

About fairness of ratings and feedback

So, I have 13 downloads of my game (Goonisher) on Itch, but I got the 20 ratings... Do people rate based on the post or something? It's better for the new developer if people don't rate at all if they aren't willing to play. Biased ratings based on what you 'think' the game is won't help anyone improving their gamedev skills.

Anyway, just asking people to vote consciously. Every single like/rate/comment is extremely important for new devs. Have fun playing and rating!
