LD 43

Do you like space and pixels?

In the tradition of 2d shoot'em up we made a game with pixels and angry aliens.

--Nevertheless you can't fire any bullets-- So try to avoid the aliens assault and reach the core of their mothership to sacrifice your own ship.

Good luck space cowboys: ->https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/lastcrifices

Humanity needs game jammers...

...To make a (virtual) sacrifice like in independence day movie.

vaisseau framebasebas.png -Try to evade all defences and take your ship to the Core.

-Play our game on: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/lastcrifices vaisseau framebasehaut.png

Here is the ugly alien core you must destroy:

See you space cowboys...

I wanted to paint something about my entry

here is the first "artwork" postjam about my game: Lastcrifices lastcrificesartwork1.png

Actually it speaks about: sacrifice (indeed...), last hope of humanity, ugly aliens, shmup (with a special rule) and pixels #####

vaisseau framebasebas.png you are welcome at: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/lastcrifices

I wanted to paint something about my entry #2

Here is a second postjam "artwork" about Lastcrifices artwork2.png

Actually this game speaks about: sacrifice (indeed…), last hope of humanity, ugly aliens, shmup (with a special rule) and pixels

vaisseau framebasebas.png you are welcome at : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/lastcrifices vaisseau framebasehaut.png

In space and pixels no one can hear you scream

Can you face the might of ennemies without ammo and find a path to reach alien mother ship and to crush his core with your sacrifice? You are the last hope of humanity...

...and you are welcome at: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/lastcrifices

That's not phallus, that's spaceship

:eggplant: We were pointed out that the sprites were phallic... :eggplant:

BUT Appearances are deceptives. Look closely at this technic schema! it's a rocketeer, not something else...

On the side of these sprites give me that there is no ambiguity:

Nevertheless I admit...hey, nooooo! it's an alien turret! Look closely at this schema too:

Our apologies if we offended someone. Truly there is no hidden meaning in our entry.

I wanted to paint something about our entry #3

Here is the third postjam “artwork” about Lastcrifices. The end of this LD43 is near... And actually I would like to thank all the people for their ratings, their nice and construcive comments.

So this is the last artwork and this is also a thank you.

Sacrificed sprites

During Jam some "sacrifices must be made" :sunglasses: . Our regrets: we couldn't implemented the explosion mechanics of some enemies and the sprites associated. We missed something but 3 days it's very hard. :sob: :sob:

So I dedicate this message to all those who had to make sacrifices (I think of everyone).

Post mortem: easy tile!

I use the free software Krita for digital painting. With it there is a very useful and simple way to create tiles. So here is my little tutorial/post mortem that show how I made tiles in my entry.

tileexplain1.png

2a = activate manualy the wrap mode: View menu> Wrap around mode OR 2b = Create a shortcut for the wrap around mode: add the shortcut in Settings> Configure Krita> Keyboard Shortcuts (search for"wrap")

tileexplain2.png This will show the image as if tiled orthographically. Don't forget to create a canvas with the drawing only. Like that you will able later to block the alpha channel and replace the black color of the drawing with other colors

A month of testing

It's time for me to leave the LD43. One month of testing (our team has given 125 ratings) and this week I tried to rate the most projects below 20 evaluations. Good luck for everyone. P.S: perhaps my team member will continue to rate your entries before the end
