Any tips for new people?

I hope you guys enjoyed our Ludum Dare 40 entry, Re:Tileation

We had fun making this game drawing inspiration from some of the best games like Super Metroid or Mega Man X. Then we added a twist that fits the theme: The more you have, the worse it is.

1.) The more you miss, the harder it gets because you have to dodge the terrain retaliation

2.) The more health you have, the harder it gets because you shoot more which means you miss more!

This game has power ups, multiple areas, multiple enemy types, a boss, well animated pixel art, great music, and everything our small team worked so hard to deliver you guys a game that you can enjoy! Have fun!

For this Ludum Dare, the team and I decided to just have fun with it. There were so many things that didn't make sense. Setting - Kitchen; Player with bunny hat! Giant slipper Gun. Wild animations. It was funny when someone adds something, another member would go, "that doesn't make any sense!" and then another member goes, "it doesn't have to be, it's just a game". So the crazy feature ends up being in the game.

I hope you guys enjoy our game as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I am in and ready to do Ludum dare again! We are looking for others to join our team.

We are an ambitious team who worked together in multiple game jams. We will be making a 2D sidescroller using Unity. We are mainly looking for:

Coder - good with implementing art and music assets, optimization, polish, or animations

Art - background, environment, and platforms artist

Design - level design, who knows how to add assets into unity and arrange game objects to make a fun game
