Robot Rodeo!

It’s a rodeo! With robots! And landmines!

I’ve submitted my (probably) final build before the deadline and you can play it here:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-27/?action=preview&uid=20602

I plan to keep working on the game after today, but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m afraid of making a game-breaking mistake if I try to add any more features. Instead I’m just play-testing and looking for bugs or new feature ideas. I’d certainly appreciate any reviews/comments/suggestions/complaints if you want to give it a try.

Thanks!

Robot Rodeo (Post-Compo version)

I’ve updated the post-compo version of my game to address some of the issues brought up by players:

  • You now start with $300, so you can buy a few upgrades right away.
  • Combat messages display what’s happening to the robot in the arena.
  • Improved character movement in the workshop.
  • Hold Shift while clicking to buy (up to) 10 health/armor upgrades at once.
  • The escape key will now close dialog windows and return to previous menu screens.

BANG! POW!

So THAT’S what all those things are!

I’m still working on improvements and I’ll continue to update the post-compo link. Please feel free to check it out and suggest features or report problems.

Obligatory post

I’m in! Doing the Jam this time with a friend.

Using crafty.js for sure.
Not sure what graphics or audio software we’ll use. Probably GIMP and Audacity among others.

Does anyone have recommendations for streaming music to drown out distractions? I’ve been using rainwave.cc and I just wanted to see what other options might be available?

In for the Jam!

Using UE4, free 3D assets, probably PhotoShop as well. :)
