Let’s do this

Decided to participate no matter what this weekend. So – in order to learn a bit and have some fun – I looked into some new tools and engines, and found PlayCanvas to be pretty cool. Basically a Unity-like hierarchy in Javascript, powered by WebGL and HTML5 <canvas>.

thingSo I decided to make this thing yesterday to test it out. It’s pretty cool how much you can do in 30 minutes. (Try it out here.)

Looking forward to it this weekend. I’m not much of a 3D modeler, but I know the basics of Cinema 4D so this will be fun. I’ll be streaming and Tweeting my progress as I go.

I got a busy weekend ahead!

Alright, I have a busy weekend ahead! I'm planning to at least do some kind of small game for this Ludum Dare. There will also be a stream over on my Twitch channel where I'll be streaming:

Lots of things to do, but taking it slow and easy.

I believe this will be my fourth or fifth Ludum Dare, although I've only submitted games twice. Hopefully I'll be able to submit another one this time. I will be using:

  • Game Maker Studio 2 (I haven't used it much yet, so this is a great excuse to learn it more!)
  • ...or good ol' C++ with SFML. We'll have to see.
  • Cubase Elements 10 for music
  • Aseprite for sprites
