What should I learn to develop?

So, I used to do games in flash, a long time ago, I’ve been busy with another projects and I’d like to jump into the indie game process again. I’ve read a lot about unity and unreal engine. I’d like to do mostly 2d and 2.5 as I’m not the greatest designer. Is there any limitations good to know about any of those? any better alternatives for a solo developer?

You might want to try HTML5/JavaScript, it is great at 2D.

pure html5 is indeed a pain…

You can also try Godot. It’s open source and it’s pretty awesome at 2d/2.5d (sadly 3d is pretty bad).

I’ll suggest haxeflixel. I’ve been using it for about 1 year and I love it. It’s really easy to pick up the basics and it exports to pretty much everything.

If you have a flash background I recommend you Haxe and Haxeflixel!

You will get used very fast.

Reflecting on Ludum Dare 53: I've created a video sharing my experience

Hello everyone, this is my game: Croc Crate Consignment!

Passionate about game development, I thoroughly enjoyed making this game during Ludum Dare 53. It was a transformative experience for me, as I transitioned from being a soulless developer to becoming a game developer. I've documented this journey in a video that showcases the process. If you're interested, feel free to check it out here:
