How do I learn java?
I want to compete in the next Ludum Dare but I don’t know how to program. I want to make android games so I should learn JAVA but I need it in 49 days! Please help!!

tip: learn basic java from thenewboston on youtube. If you want to make droid games, i suggest using LibGDX. With it, you need to code once and you can compile it onto pc, mac, linux, blackberry, android, ios and html5. There are many tutorials for all that online

You could make a game in Gamemaker or Unity, that will work on Android as well. with those tools you can achieve more with less coding, because the IDE does stuff for you already.

If you want to create games with Java, I also recommend libgdx.

If you want to participate in a LD I recommend to reconsider to make a Android game. I know from experience that almost nobody rates Android games. Most games are made for Windows, Mac and Linux so you should think about making a game for those platforms. And don’t expect to much from you first games. Keep your expectations low and you are satisfied with your achievements.
