Our first Ludum Dare : The Guardian

Here we are.  Our first Ludum Dare.

As the coder, I have to say i’m really happy about what we’ve made.

In The Guardian, you control a little strange character who can only attack by throwing away his own pixels and your goal is to protect the forest. I would say no more, to keep you the surprise. Sound is actually important to the global mood of the game.

A Game about Games !

banner.png

Hello ! Finally we've finished it  !

Our game is about games (because, you know, the more games you have, the less you will play).

I'm quite happy of the outcome. I tried to have a playable game as soon as possible so I could focus mainly on polishing and trying to make programmer art look like something decent. I even had time to put an online leaderboard and a tutorial ! A big thanks to PizzaTotinos for his awesome music !

Now, after the work, lets celebrate by playing all the games :beers: !

Thank you everyone for your amazing comments, it's by far the best reward and its always a pleasure to read them. Will meet you again for the next LD !

LEADER, Keep them alive!

Header.png

Hello everyone!

I participated alone this time. It was my first time doing the sound design and the music. I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out.

* LEADER, Keep them alive * is a narrative experience where you'll be the LEADER of a space mission. The game is inspired by the Apollo 13 events. I really focused on the mood and the story.

The game looks very complicated, but a tutorial guides you through the different gameplay elements. I hope you'll like it!

I'd love to hear what you think of the game

My first Compo!

Hello everyone!

Finally! I participated in a compo!

And to make things better, I streamed all the dev. Here's a (pretty long) timelapse:

You can find the whole replay (in french, but with a cat) on my twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/bastienre4

And finally, you can try the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/the-red-crystal

Ludum Dare 49

Hello everyone!

I'll be participating to this edition, steaming live on twitch the whole dev! It will be in french but I can speak english if you drop by :)

I'm going to work alone and do simple concept but push the polish as far as I can. As usual I'll work with Unity, Reaper, Blender & Photoshop.

I wanted to do a Compo but since I have a free Monday, I'll probably participate in Jam.

See you this week end!

// OVERDRIVE

And... It's done. This one was a though one to make.

OVERDRIVEem2021-10-05/em00-34-50.jpg

If you like scoring or rogue likes, you will love this one. I'm happy with how the game design turned out. It have a simple objective (complete each room) but if you try to maximize your score, it has a lot of depth (overdrive management) that has a strong impact on the gameplay.

Don't hesitate to tell me what you think :)

//OVERDRIVE - Timelapse

Here's the timelapse for //OVERDRIVE. I've worked around 39h to make this game. Doing it live was really fun!

You can play the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/overdrive

If you also made a timelapse, please give me a link to see it, I'd love to see them!

//OVERDRIVE soon on Steam!

I'm polishing/adding some content to my entry //OVERDRIVE and I plan to release it on Steam in November!

Here are the improvements I made on the game feel.

As always, I'm streaming the whole dev on Twitch (in french, but if you ask me questions in english it's ok!) : https://www.twitch.tv/bastienre4

Have a nice day!

Card O'Clock Timelapse

Banner.png

It's just a few days before the results, and here comes the timelapse of my entry, Card O'Clock! 39 hours condensed in just 3 minutes (watch out, the sound is terrible 😱).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN8yri95dHk

Like always, it was a lot of fun, and I'm happy how the game turned out.

If you like card games & deckbuilding, you should check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/card-oclock And please tell me what you think about it 🙂

Don't hesitate to send a link of your entry so I can try it out! ✨

Thank you so much

Results.png

I'm so happy with the Card O'Clock results ✨. Thank you everyone for playing and rating the game.

While I released my LD49 entry, //OVERDRIVE, on Steam, I don't know if I'll release this one.

I have a lot of ideas to make Card O'Clock into a full rogue like/deck building game, with exploration and enemies that "dies" as time passes but my current project (Project OPERATOR, that you can wishlist on Steam btw 😇) is taking too much time already.

EnemiesMockup2.png

Credits goes to Alicia for making these, even though they didn't make it to the jam version!

If you want you can follow me on Twitter or on Twitch (FR).

See you for Ludum Dare 51! 👀

I'm in!

I'm in, once again.

But this time, I won't be using Unity but Godot. It's have been a while since I wanted to switch engines, as I don't believe in Unity's future anymore and Godot is perfect for fast iteration. This jam will be the perfect occasion to push my Godot knowledge!

Also, as always, I'll be streaming the jam (mostly in french: https://www.twitch.tv/bastienre4). And Spinozarre, my friend and music composer, will do the audio!
