First time joining!
I'm gonna give this a go for the first time. I started coding about 6 months ago, and feel like doing a challenge, any things i really need to know?

Hello everybody, this is my first tine participating, and I got a quick question. Is source code necessary for the Jam, and what exactly is it, as I found the sites description not very clear.

As you see I have got something going. Overall the coding and creating art is going somewhat smooth, but the gameplay is less exciting then I hoped for. The subject is really hard being that I have been using Unity for about 4 months and coding for 6.
The gameplay consists of balancing the recources between the 2 sides, and keeping god satisfied.
Anyways if yo uhave any ideas, leave them here, I gotta get going again.
Ludum dare 43 certainly went different then i thought.
1st: I thought I'd never ever have enough time so I kept it simple, now I realise its probably too simple.
2nd: I finished
I learned so much by this game jam, I worked with UI elements for the first time. And that might seem stupid asthat's a vital element of a game, but before I hadn't yet ever made a a full, finished game, so I'm happy to have learned that.
I just have one little question now, cna you already vote on submissions?
Here's a screenshot of my game btw:

First of all, I had an amazing tine this LD and certainly will be back again. Still though I want to share my experiences.
When I got the idea of doing this I had many thoughts like, im probably not gonna finish or I might wanna participate in the Jam to keep it easy on myself. But neither of those happened. I actually made my game too simple making my submission a bit stale.
Next I learned more then I ever thought. Things like UI elements and using variables through different classes all was new for me.
I really enjoy playing other people's games as well.
Anyways, Id love to hear other people story about their first jam.
My progress thus far, I got the UI ready and movement script. A huge improvement over last jam. (It is a fish underwater)
The game is basically done in terms of coding. Just need to add a winning & game over condition and a script for plants that hurt your fish. Noww I can fully focus on my favorite part: level design.
Im really glad my game isnt turning out like last LD.
For some reason my buid keep crashing when I press the start game button in the main menu. Ive just started troubleshooting...
