Game logic is almost done

This is my first time doing Ludum Dare and I’m having fun so far. My game still doesn’t look like much of a game as of yet, but I have almost all of the game logic finished. Tomorrow will be dedicated to graphics and animations (and maybe sound).

I’m in!

I’ll be using the Godot game engine and gimp or Inkscape for anything gfx. Let’s do this, good luck everyone!

A bit of progress

Screenshot from 2016-04-16 13:52:14

I’m about 4 hours into LD35 (European time zone) and I finally feel like having made some progress. Moving the character works, yay. Sadly Godot does not have any kind of prerendered primitives (rectangles etc.) therefore crappy pixel art will have to do it for the time being.

I’ve done it!

The game is “finished” enough for me to call it a day. I had a lot of fun and an equal amount of frustration with various bugs in the Godot engine. If anyone is interested I’ll consider writing a small report about my experiences of using Godot for LD35. Here is the entry page.

As ever, good luck to everyone finishing up.

The Bees Are Go!

I'm in! Let's see how far I get this time.

Honey Empire

I'm very happy that I managed to finish my game, although "only" for the jam and not for the compo since I started late on Saturday. The code might be a living spaghetti monster hell, but at least it's fun... I think.

Finished my first LD in a team

While I have done a few Ludum Dares before, this was my first time with friends who did most of the work on gfx and sfx. It was quite a nice change, to almost only have to worry about the code for once. I could've definitively made things easier for myself in that regard, if I had come up with an idea on saturday, not only on sunday.

Here is the final result in which you are chopping vegetables for lots of soups. I'd appreciate, if you could check it out. It's playable in the browser.

Design document for Super Soup Slicer

Since I loving looking at the design process and documents of other developers myself, I though I'd share my incredibly detailed plan for Super Soup Slicer.

Head over to itch.io if you want to have a look what came out of it at the end ;)

Post Jam Version

We released a post jam version of our game Super Soup Slicer. It now more resembles the idea we initially thought of, but couldn't fully implement because of the little time (surprise, surprise). The most important improvements are:

  • More sounds
  • More levels, better level progression
  • Added hints for each level- Fixed vegetable spawn rates
  • Added troll
  • Minified js

Uploaded HTML5 version of our game

I just uploaded an HTML5 version of our game "Slaves of the Carribean" to make rating it a bit easier. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/slaves-of-the-carribean

Day 1 Progress: Fish Slapper (working title)

Fishes can be slapped. I created all major scenes for the game and quite a few graphics and sounds. Unfortunately it's not really fun yet, something is missing.

I made a game about slapping fishes

It just needs 8 more ratings to get to 20. I'd appreciate some feedback. Check the game out here.

Clear Skies with a Chance of Meteors

I made a card game in which you delay the impact of a meteor for as long as possible in order to save people. Some more ratings would be appreciated!
