Fishy Pond – Mini LD Entry

It’s about Jimmy the Phish in a pond when something fishy happens.  A never before seen food is falling from pond-sky. It is so delicious that Jimmy has to satisfiy itself with it.  However the food is not the only thing falling from pond-sky.

Hi! I’m crzikrn and just recently started game designing. This is the very first.  It’s made from Gamemaker Lite. This fishy pond mini-game was a project to start myself for designing games.
I wanted to participate in the mini LD, but it took me some time figuring out things. Next time I want to be in the 48 hr challenge!!

The base resolution is 18X64, since I didn’t know how to scale without blurring the screen I cheated and increased the actual images to 180X640.  Hope that’s not breaking the rules.

It’s a mini-game with a narrative, I wanted to make the game immersive and have narrative with the sounds used.  The somewhat eerieness of the bgm and the gameover sound relates to the experience Jimmy the Phish has or will have.  The ending when you collect the 25 Food, is also a narrative that indirectly explains the sounds behind the game.

And YES you can get 25 food. One way or another. It’s like kind of a puzzle trying to break the game. haha.  Hope you Enjoy.
