LD 39

First Day of my First LD down...

So this is my first Ludum Dare, so far things are going ok...

Got the basic UI up and running, a little card flipping / resource management thing. Not pictured (because it occupies the same space as the "click the cards..." text) - the build / scrap powerplant menu. Also, I'm not happy with literally ALL the graphics. Except the water (1) and coal (3) powerplants - those are ok. Card backs are basic but reasonable, will give them a polish later. UI Complete.PNG

So far, so basically done...

Well, main gameplay loop is there, graphical prettying up has started; still a few things left to do:

1) Animations for the remaining powerplants

2) Music - it needs audio, badly

3) More event cards; I want at least 60-something, and I'm currently on 36

4) Adjust starting cash, and add in code to make power requirements fluctuate per turn - this needs doing for the game to be "complete" for the end of the jam, but shouldn't take more than 20 min or so (hence the post title)

I'm running with "Out of Power" as the title for the game at the moment.

Note the new background instead of the plain blue, and the adjusted manual power plant icon replacing the old stickfigure. test.gif

Shiny Splashscreen

Nearly done now - a few tweaks and stuff. Finished all the animations, added a splash screen and some intro message popups to explain what's going on. It's rough, it's in need of a lot of polish, the balance is screwy and I have about 100 ideas of how I'm gonna improve it - but it's basically a finished game in 72 hours from scratch. Mission accomplished for my first ever Ludum Dare I think :D
