Guys, it's almost time! I for one is going prepared! Here is a few pointers if you're new to this! (I know this profile doesn't have any games, but last time I was in, was on the old website)
Pre cook meals. Or get stuff you can microwave! Don't go into this knowing you'll have to spend unnecessary time on making food! Also, don't eat too much or too fast. Take a break if you know this is an issue for you while you eat, so you don't end up with an upset tummy!
Hype your team up! Ensure that you're constantly being a good source of energy for whoever you're doing this with. If you're alone, be the light you wish to be, don't bring yourself down!
Plan breaks ahead! It's important that you stay awake when needed, so schedule sleeping breaks, walks to get fresh air, etc when needed. Always leave room for random walks! They're handy if you're stuck on something!
Spend a few hours to decide what your game should be about, don't jump directly into it. From experience, that will just end up forcing you to restart.
Do art work, audio, etc before starting the actual building process. Having to use temp sprites is a mess!
Listen to music. Creativity is easily triggered by music, so keep that in mind. Also, vc-ing with your team is also a good idea, but make sure you're not getting too carried away.
I hope these helps some of you! Here's a bonus one: for some people, having a direct plan isn't always the best. If the programmer changes something, or get an idea, it's usually just best to go with it!
I wish you all best of luck, and an amazing experience! :D
