My thoughts exactly! But if it helps you relax, go for it!

Not so well progress. However, I’am learning a lot!

This is my first time making a game and so far I understand the basics. I was able to make the sprite move, make a map using a text file, and collision detection. All is left is for me to make some game play going. My first Ludum Dare was not a waste of time. My goal in Ludum Dare is to learn on how to make a game, or at least get the basics going. I have no regrets :)

My second Ludum Dare

I will join this Ludum Dare!

In my last ludum dare, I  learned a lot about game design.

My tools for Ludum Dare #35:

Engine: OpenGL/SDL

Language: C++

Graphics: Blender, GIMP, Aseprite.

Audio: Sunvox.

My progress so far….

I fixed some bugs in my game engine. Thus, I can finally work on the game!

I’m in!

This is going to be my third time. However, this time I will actually submit my first game using my own game engine.

What I’m going to use:

  • Ignis Game engine — my very own 2D game engine
  • Aseprite — 2d Pixel editor
  • Sunvox — sound and music

I’m done for now

I need to resign. I am very exhausted and I focused too much on art. The game play is almost done but I ran into an annoying bug. Therefore, I need to rethink my algorithm in my game engine.

Thankfully, this Ludum Dare gave me the opportunity to work on my bug fixing in the OpenGL side of the game engine and artwork.

I should’ve focused more on the gameplay instead of art.

I’ll do better next time!

I'm in!

This is going to be my fifth try.

What I'm going to use:

- Ignis Game engine -- my very own 2D game engine (almost bug free...almost)
- Aseprite -- 2d Pixel editor
- Sunvox -- sound and music

I would also like to add that ludumdare helped me a lot in my software engineering career. I actually see improvement when I participate in this event.
