Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for?

To list why I’m screwed:

1. Its my first LD (and my first game jam)

2. I haven’t been programming for that long (out of Unity I’m useless)

3. I have no clue about graphics, sound design or animation

But anyway, I’ll be using Unity, programming in C#, using GIMP for graphics, sfxr for sound, and Netflix for procrastination.

Any tips for a beginner to graphics? Sprite art to be specific <3

In over my head

I think I should have practiced sprite art before starting. Never done anything other than placeholder art, and just hoped for the best.

Well, at least I know what to practice for next year. For anyone who would like a giggle (and if you have any suggestions in how to suck less, or where to start learning), here is my main character (AKA the weird gormless… Thing):

First successful LD!

I did it mum!

Seriously though, I’ve uploaded my game to Newgrounds and it is under judgement. Anyone got any suggestions for a more… Permanent home for it? Or, can anyone vote it up to get it through voting, so that I don’t lose my submission because of a mean gaming site? :3

Good luck everyone!

I’m an idiot

So, my Tower Defense game was crashing for a lot of people. I originally thought “New version of Unity, must be a broken web player”. I was wrong.
I had set a variable to some random sprite, so the towers were having a fit when they spawned because of a type mismatch. The problem, of course, was rushing to get it finished. And the worst part? I’ve made a load of GUI/mechanics changes between fixing the error, so I can’t re-upload it as a glitch fixer, because I would be adding content.

I’ll take this as a lesson for next time:

Rush efficiently.

Updated version of the game (not part of LD, just if you are interested in seeing the progression):

Good timing Google (warning for unity users)

First of all, i’m in.

Secondly, Chrome removed support for Unity web player, and other stuff like it, so if you are using Unity and will be uploading it as a web file, remember to use WebGL and not the web player :)

Good luck all!
