Being the artist of the Lemmings-like game Dwammings, I am ecstatic about the positive response of the sprites I created for our game. Seeing that folks out there are finding these little dwarves I created as charming as I did when I got the first one walking, it makes me happy. When the team decided to take to dwarven angle of this jam's theme, I instantly started thinking of the line of dwarves heading into their mines. With their miner caps on and bulbous noses sticking out beneath them, marching happily to get to work. The finished design ended up resembled having a Brian Froud styling, an artist that I turn to for inspiration for mythical fae creatures like gnomes and faeries.
Even their actions I created is paced similar to Lemmings I played when I was younger. (It was actually one of the first DOS games I played on the family PC.) They had that carefree pace that I could just watch while others wonder around, often to their demise. A pace that I was glad to care over in my animation.
If you haven't had a chance to see these dwarves move first hand, I recommend giving our game Dwammings a play. Click here to head to the game page.
And with now that 50 plus folks have rated our game (and 250 individuals viewed the game on itch.io), I like to admit that this has been my first game that I've been part of creating. Every comment and critique I've been reading feels me with pride that even a guy in his mid 30's can still give his passion a chance. With the feedback and experience from this past week has made me realize that what game I can create can be enjoyed by other. So, for every one leaving a message for the game creators out there, you are helping inspiring individuals to continue creating games. Keep leaving feedback on every game you play (not just ours), cause no matter how simple it may be, we appreciate ever bit of it.

The results are in and Dwammings came 166th overall. This was the first jam for the majority of us on the team, and were ecstatic on seeing how well we did.
But also, congrats on all the other creators that participate. I know I gonna find myself participate in the next jam in the future, and pulling in everything I learned here in LD48.
Will say, excited that this will be my first solo LD. Having a busy Saturday might through a wrench in my plans, but the Casual category is always there for me. Tools of my trade:

Got a working prototype of burger making for my entry. It's a great start for the first evening. Now time for some real life burgers for the evening.
Check out the video on my twitter ( https://twitter.com/kw_dev ), and any future updates on the entry.
Also, if any folks knows how to embed videos from twitter that would be great.
10 seconds to finish the burger, get stacking!

Game is coming together, and only got a few more UI elements to add. Then music and the tutorial section to add, but just excited to see it all feeling like a game.

Check out my entry with a burger making panic: Burger Rush!

Play the game where everyone been having a fun time, and see why folks commented the words above.
Only takes a minute to try out, or stay to try to achieve your best burger making score!
Give it try now: [Burger Rush]

Been thinking about this the past few days, and after hearing all the feedback I've been getting from friends and strangers: this feels like my first 'success' as a hobbyist game developer. The gameplay was solid, the graphics on point, and it provides that bit of challenge. I know there are also improvements that could be made (and will probably write up a post-mortem about this later, but currently basking in the positive vibes). I feel like every hobbyist gets their first 'success' and I am just relishing in mine.
And you can relish in some burger making with Burger Rush!
Just want to thank everyone that has played and reviewed my game. Overall, everyone been giving thumbs up and been having a blast with Burger Rush. Start the weekend off with good burger making, and leave some feedback. Honestly, I wanna know where I Try my game out now: Burger Rush
While not looking through the Games tab to find a game to try out and review, I always give the games of everyone that left a comment on my game a go. And also leave any recommendations of any gems you came across during this week of gameplaying and reviewing.
And if you want other burger making treats, try out both Miam and Fast Food In10sifies.
It's always fun looking at the the game started as. Below is a recording of what Burger Rush was at the end of Friday of the Ludum Dare:

That solid prototype was the ground work, and at that point only a few other features were need for the complete gameplay loop. See where this prototype turned into by playing: Burger Rush!
And feel free to post some of your Friday night progress pictures of your game. It's always great to see where all the amazing entries I've been seeing started from.
It was a pleasant surprise to wake up and see that Burger Rush is on the first page of games (well, under the Smart catagory), and just reach my personal goal of getting 50 reviews. I would like to thank everyone that gave my game a look.
If you all are still curious, give the game a good and start you Saturday off with some frantic burger construction. As for myself, I look to continue review all the other great entries in the jam.

Would like to thank everyone who played Burger Rush, and gave a review. It's great to be near the top 5% of all the entries today, as well as 73rd in Fun. If you haven't giving it a chance, feel free to play Burger Rush now.
And now looking forward to the next jam!
