LD30

I’m in and it’s my first time

I’ve always loved Ludum Dare but I hadn’t been programming enough to even think about participating. It changed few months ago, and i took part in few jams this month (made two games, including one for three jams at the same time) and I thought why not Ludum Dare :)

I’m not sure If I’ll do something playable, but i’ll do my best. I still hadn’t been doing art too much so it is not going to be a pretty game.

Language: C++
Libraries/Engines: SFML, Box2D (if needed), TinyXml2 (if needed)
IDE: CodeLite, Notepad++
Graphics: mainly Paint.Net but also Aseprite
Music: Bosca Ceoil
Sounds: Bfxr/as3sfxr
Other: Tiled (if needed)

And here are my votes .

Progress update and a question

I am making a game called “This Hero, That Villain.”, but I’m still not sure if I’m making this for compo or for jam. The game is randomly generated. Not yet finished, but you can complete level and you can fail, but not all things are added yet. It’s pretty simple, nothing fancy, I didn’t want something super hard for my first LD.

And here’s why i have doubts. In my game “Connected Worlds” is accomplished by adding heroes from different games, shows and movies, not by mechanics (and 18 hours ago i thought that that was great idea). Not like i ripped art directly from games and put it into mine, it’s just quite recognizable, two most recognizable characters are here:

Should I still consider sending it as compo entry or i am making jam game? (or can i just add some mechanics and everything will be fine too?)

If I were you I would submit it as jam, just to be safe.

I'm a bit stressed since i didn't join a game jam since forever. Hopefully i'll manage to make something playable in 48 or 72 hours :sweat_smile:

Excited and nervous but I'm in

I'm in again, hopefully life won't ruin my plans this time as it did the last two times, and I'll be able to participate.
