We're in! And it will be fluffy
This time I'm participating together with Zoi Fedotova.
Super excited to make something cool and funny. And cute. Definitely cute.

I'm working on the gameplay while Zoi makes the sprites and the background.
Now squint your eyes a bit and try to figure out the final merge of those. I should say, it takes some imagination.

Recent news from Catstagram: cats photoes are going viral!
Together with @fedoccio we made a game about cat that takes the photos for the instagram and collect likes and followers.

The controls might be tricky, so we made a guide for it. (see the game page)
The goal is to strike the poses you're in mood for and reject the poses you don't feel confident in (with the "Struggle" option).
There're lots of the achievements and some hidden bonus pose photos for you.
So, try yourself as an instagram cat. Pick the right mood, strike the pose and collect the likes.

Feel free to leave the feedback.

If anyone else is having troubles with the Mac files become broken after the upload on itch.io, here's an easy solution:
:whitecheckmark: Archive the .app file before the upload.
Just found out that itch.io's auto-archiving system is somehow broken and Mac files crush after being downloaded and unarchived. So you should archive the files by yourself to avoid the troubles and crushes.
If you have the Mac version of your game and hosting it on itch.io, please, download it and check wether it works or not, be safe from the long minutes of panic and frustration.

Good luck.

Hi, we're Demy and @fedoccio and we made this small Catstagram themed game about the Instagram cat's routine.
The whole thing started from the couple pieces of paper and the animation of the body. Both of us were not so well with Unity and had to figure out lots of things in process.

If you want to take it easier, make it 2D. But if you want the Nightmare mode, go Isometric.
The whole game looks quite 2D, but wait, how does this fluffy ball goes around the chair?

Well, that's because it's actually 3D.
Did it bring more troubles? Well, yes and no. First of all, I already had a game with the isometric view and the character going around the objects. But I made it from scratch without any game engine on pure AS and it was pretty laggy (see my profile -> Previous games -> Room Chaos Monster).
Unity3D made it way easier and I didn't have to think about tons of stuff.
But there were the side effects too: I had to spend the whole Sunday morning in panic "because I broke the game" and trying to figure out how to organize the room walls in my super alternative coordiantes system. Thankfully, couple hours later it worked out.

If it looks stupid but works it ain't stupid
That's all about the room scene, comment if you have any questions and don't forget to play and rate our game: Caturday is today
Love you all, meow :cat:
Hi, we're Demy and @fedoccio, two cat lovers from Russia, and we made this small Catstagram themed game about the Instagram cat's daily routine.
The previous post about the room structure you can find here: Catification is now.
Actually, we planned to make several types of the "jobs" cat can do, but quickly understood that we don't have enough time for them and decided to make at least one type of the "job" but finalize it properly.
The first scratches:

Behold these gorgeous pose icons. That's what you get when you let your programmer (me) do the proxies
Btw, the "Struggle" animation at first was the default start animation, but I thought it's too awesome to not use it in the "The kitty is not in the mood" situation.

A bit of self-rant:
Of course, this scene is the main source of the mechanic understanding issues.
On the second Post-Mortem-ish thoughts, we should place the pose's key sequence on the picture of the wanted pose (top-left), and make the mechanics of it more transparent. It was copied from the Telltale's games Q-Q-Q-Q-W thing and we should really redesign its view the same way - the progress bar on the tile + flip at the end. Anyway, the flip of the tile works way better than (the progress of the Q key) with the Struggle option and players understand it way quicker than the Q-pressing sequence.
In the layers of the animation I found this:
Thanks to @fedoccio I had a quite hysterical laugh. This view still could be found somewhere in the game .
This scene has the most of the game sounds: background sound, sound of the win, sound of the failed pose, camera click.
All of the audio pieces were found on the freesounds.org and all of the references are in the game's description. As always, even though I know nothing about music and audio editing, this part of the game's design plays a big role in the "game's soul" creation.
:arrow_forward: Caturday is today
Thank you for your time and have a good day!
