Let's do this!

I already wanted to enter a few times, but I lacked of knowledge and skill, now finally I'm trying to make a little game with @zmoa using the promoted GameMaker 2!

Better than expected.

About 5 minutes before the theme announcement my teammate @zmoa and I had a talk about which theme would be cool. I was pretty comofortable and said "as long, as it won't be "combine two uncompatible genres", we're totally fine." You can imagine how I felt a few moments later.

However now, 24 hours in, we got a pretty neat text adventure platformer, we came up with the idea quickly and it's getting along by far better than we would have expected. We're pretty happy about our first day of our first game jam with the first game we ever made!

Done.

Our game for the jam is now finished, already after 48 hours, because we don't have time to develop tomorrow. @zmoa and me are pretty happy about our first ever game we made. Having learned to program turned out as very handy and my fellow's art skills absolutely excelled my expectations.

We'll publish Secrets of the forest (placeholder name, haven't asked about my colleague's opinion on it yet :P), tomorrow either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Have a peak of the final thing for now: screenshot1.jpg

We finished our first game ever.

Finally after two very exciting but also exhausting days, we finished our first real game. It turned out by far better than we had expected, I got into Game Maker really easily and @zmoa 's art looks great. Go and have a look at it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/secrets-of-the-forest

Feedback needed!

We finished our first game we ever made already yesterday and still got hardly any feedback. We're really happy with how it turned out and would appreciate your feedback!

Post Jam version of "How to raise a Demon" is finished!

Banner1.png

Hey everybody!

After more than a month of additional development we finally published the post jam version of our LD46 entry on itch! Despite fixing bugs, we focused and making the game a pleasing experience and making it feel complete. We made a lot of improvements for the game, such as: - completely new level design - tutorial - more and better voice lines, triggered by events - more and improved sound effects - ability to sprint - visual effects - changed font - enemy healthbars - menus, options, credits, etc.

Try it out here: https://green-acorn-studios.itch.io/how-to-raise-a-demon

There is a WebGL version available, however it has some issues, therefore I highly recommend you play the desktop version if you want to have a good experience!

Beat the Highscore

Somebody was pretty passionate about our game and reserved the upper four seats of the leaderboard for himself. Now the board could use a bit more diversity... Screenshot 2021-04-30 104811.png

Are you up for the challenge to knock him off the throne?

If you are into endless runners, you will enjoy "Welldiver"!
