I'm in! Best of Luck to everyone!

This will be my second ever Game Jam! My first was HeartJam just a few weeks ago. I'll be working along-side my creative partner, LollipopCop.

Tools we'll be using: - GameMaker Studio 2 - Aseprite - Bosca Ceoil

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and good luck!

Well, this is happening.

About to head to bed, thought I'd share the evenings progress. After much deliberation, we have decided on... A Walking Simulator Racing Game.

I look forward to seeing everyone else's fantastic combinations roll in. Remember to have fun!

Another day down: Progress report

We've been having a lot of fun with our Walking Simulator / Racing Game, has been moving much more smoothly than anticipated. Have the core mechanics down, and a large portion of the sprites / art. Just need to do some polishing, menus, tweaks, and music tomorrow and it will be a wrap! Too bad we have to work Monday - would have been nice to have the extra time - but I'm sure many of us have that problem!

Hope everyone is having a good time!

Change of Pace is done! (Walking simulator / Racing Game)

Finally managed to finish the Jam just before midnight. Lucky too because we didn't have time to work on it tomorrow. If you're interested, check it out!

Best of luck to everyone! It's been a blast!

Change of Pace: Uploaded Soundtrack

I've seen quite a few people uploading the soundtrack to their game, which I have really appreciated, so I've decided to follow suit in case anyone is interested!

Back for our second LD!

Hey all. Back for our second Ludum Dare and third-ever Jam. Best of luck to everyone, and see you all soon. Looking forward to seeing everyone's entries in a week!

Back again, best of luck all!

Hi all,

Excited to be returning for our second ever LD Jam, and our third ever jam.

H860Nj.png

Last time, when we did Change of Pace, I did all of the art and music, and my development partner (@BabyKing) did all of the programming. This time, for a change of pace (pun intended?) we are swapping roles. I'm excited and nervous to take on this new challenge. I hope everyone has a great jam. I look forward to seeing all of the amazing projects!

Time to sleep: Day 1 Progress

Had a fun first evening coming up with the basic concept and design for our game, but it's time for my creative partner and I to get some much needed sleep. Hope everyone else is having a blast, so far it looks like many of you have incredible ideas, I can't wait to play them.

Let the warehouse management begin!

12:12AM, but we're finally finished!

Hope everyone has had an excellent weekend!

For us, it was full of the usual emotional ups-and-downs of game development, but we've managed to pull it off. It was definitely an interesting Jam compared to usual, as my creative partner and I decided to swap roles, with him doing the Art / Music, and me doing the programming.

We'd love for you to check it out. We look forward to playing everyone else's games in the coming week.

Meet the Gutted Goblin Trading Co. A warehouse management sim.

Third Jam!

I checked the LD site just a couple of days ago to remind myself when the Jam was. Turns out it was today, and not the middle of December as I thought. I've managed to convince my creative partner to join up with me once again even with short notice. Sadly though we have way less time available this weekend than we normally would as we both have other plans we made ahead of time. Regardless, it would be a shame to miss it, so we're just going to make something small!

Best of luck everyone. It's always a great time.

Oregon Tail finished!

Morning all, I hope everyone has had a wonderful Jam.

We finally finished our game at 2am last night (have work today, so Monday is unfortunately never an option). Had a lot of fun with this title, took a lot of inspiration from Oregon Trail and Undertale. At the start of the Jam I was super confident that building a small adventure game based around the continual sacrifice of your resources to continue fit the theme perfectly. However, as the days ticked onwards, and I saw some fellow jammer's games, I was impressed with the creativity I saw, and started to feel our title didn't fit the theme as well as I hoped.

Regardless, we pushed through and finished it. I hope you enjoy! I look forward to diving into reviews myself after I have a day of rest.

PS. We may push a small QoL update before the Jam is over. But it is fully playable now.

We did it. Just in the nick of time!

We managed make it for the deadline! Hope everyone has had an excellent jam. Today was a stressful rush to finish. We definitely over-scoped our many story options.

Introducing: Social Lite!

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/social-lite

We made a relaxing social media management simulator. In it you simply post more and more content to social media. The connection to the theme is a commentary on the trade off we have in our lives between privacy and fame.

We hope you enjoy it. Leave us a comment and we will be sure to return the favor. -River Giant Games
