I’m hoping to actually complete a game – the aim is the compo but the jam is always a nice fallback option.

I’m mainly writing this to get a profile page (thanks iostream!)

Man, looking at all these updates is really distracting! 

Anyway, I’ve got a first working prototype.  I mean, the game is practically done, right?

It’s both inspiring and terrifying to see what other people have done so far! I will have to throw as much as possible into “non-essential” and focus on the best bits. Hopefully have time to squeeze in some sounds and music, not sure how animation can/will be done.

Just a quick heads-up that the 3rd Alakajam kicks off in less than 20 hours! It has a similar structure to Ludum Dare, although we differentiate between solo and team entries in the 48h jam, in addition to the more relaxed 72h unranked category.

In less than 3 hours theme suggestions open for the 4th Alakajam!

Alakajam is a weekend-long jam very similar to LD, and the 4th one is happening in two weeks, starting on Friday 12th October and ending Sunday 14th (jam) or Monday 15th (unranked) - and theme suggestion opens tonight!

We run three Alakajams per year, and we also run month-long jams called Kajams, game tournaments where we play user-suggested/created games, and feedback sessions for gamedevs.
