Was a bit late starting due to being at work all day, but now, after about 8 hours work today I have something that resembles a game. Its definitely chaotic! https://twitter.com/DrunkardWolf

A mash up of a fast pace car chase game and wave based survival!

General idea is that the Grid represents the players health. Everytime you get hit, you lose a tile, hence, running out of space to dodge the enemies.

Been at work all day, but making some progress. Going for something quite simple again so that I can focus on polish.
Have to go to work soon :( but thankfully I managed to get the bulk of things finished last night. Kept it simple since I have quite a busy weekend, so I couldn't dedicate too much time to the jam. Now I just have to spend some time polishing.

After accidentally opening a gateway to hell, you must face the threat of Demons invading the Earth. You bargain with Beelzebub himself, who demands sacrifices, in return, he agrees to close the gateway, however, if you don't sacrifice fast enough, he will unleash his demon army upon the planet.
How to play -
Chase as many sheep as you can into the gateway before the time runs out. Each sacrifice buys you an additional 10 seconds to save the planet. Act fast and pray the demon will keep his word.
Controls:
W/S - Walk
A/D - Turn
Mouse - Rotate camera
Escape - Pause

Here's what I've got so far, spent the morning coming up with ideas and implementing the core gameplay systems. Making a card game where you spend health points on new cards to build your deck. Progress has been slow, but Its getting there.

Making decent progress, I've managed to get most of the core gameplay mechanics done, still need to add more cards, along with things such as tick damage and buffs/debuffs, but other than that I'll have a whole day to get thing polished. :)

Almost done with my entry, want to spend a little bit more time on balancing the cards and polishing things up, but very happy with what I've got done. Hope everyone else is making progress :)

Making good progress. Got characters moving with A* pathfinding and added a turn and combat system.

6 Hours left and I'm close to finishing. Just need to add an ending, menus etc. Then try to fix some minor bugs and potentially add some new items/some stronger enemies.

In DAY/ONE, you play as a survivor of an unknown apocalyptic event, who has just re-surfaced from a shelter. You start with nothing, no weapon, friends or resource. As you progress through the game, you will pick up new members to your party, as well as weapons to help you defend yourselves and other items to help you survive.
Controls:
Use mouse to pick up items, fight and move your party by clicking.
Left Click inventory slot - Use item.
Right Click inventory slot - Drop item.
This is my 6th LD, but its definitely my least favourite theme so far.
Either way, I've made some progress this morning, think I'm going to try and keep things as simple as possible mechanics wise this time round.

As always, I hated the theme at first, but after some sleep I'm pretty happy with it. I guess it wouldn't be Ludum Dare if it wasn't a theme I didn't like. Progress is going good but think I'm spending too much time on the visuals, so going to focus more on gameplay next.
