21°12℉ Royale Bro!

Looks 21 hours for the compo; realized something was afoot so here I am. Not new to late joining (my Tortle jam entry on itch was less than 12 hours)

HAVE: - Base framework for Unity (first commit March 3rd) wi†h Multiplayer, Expel, Gesture, Give, Grab, Ingest, LookAt, Push, Reach, Tell, Jump, Shoot and Steer - Idea I was toying with, which "life as currency" amplifies yo! - Time!

NEED: - Scrap all gfx, models, sound for clean starting point and Git - Build mechanics! - Create awesome looking gfx and weird sound. - Publish

Shooting for the compo; jam for backup. Now, coffee

BR2112 Bro! Neo Framework now on Github

Sharing is believing! https://github.com/eelstork/Neo

Neo is a <1kloc framework for multi/single/non player characters. Sandbox included along with a variety of actions (grab, ingest, jump, steer...), motors, rotors and more. Chat is built-in.

Just spent 2 hours cleaning this up so I could upload it to GitHub; got rid of pre-jam media (behold a spanking new cube and grid!) This will be my starting point for the Jam. And now it's yours too! Needs: Unity3D, Blender, Photon PUN2

Br2112, Royale Bro! Effective Shooting

A game which, well, relies heavily on real time reflexes, precision and, (you guessed it) text input. For short games I normally follow a strategy which helps not finish at the last minute, because this really hurts

1) Solve an interesting problem - being a coder that's often a technical thing 2) Bolt game rules on top. Anything that works 3) Put in some effort to make it look nice [I AM HERE] 4) Release 5) If any time left, and I'm not out of steam, improve and re-release.

On the coding stretch I felt that I was under-using my framework. Even with Photon, making a game in a few hours is still a challenge and I'm worried about stability. Not expecting to get this 100% right. Anyway. I'd like to add more mechanics and get closer to the jam theme but no promises.

I suddenly remembered I had a name for this game but for now, Br2112, not telling.

Br2112 - Color, Switch, Kingdom, Isle

Went to bed. Turned. Turned. Built an enviro for my game. Probably needs a bit of vegetation. Molehills, and a kind of bridge-like thing going across. Still not grasping the scale, either gameplay-wise, or otherwise. Maybe I should add dinosaur eggs.

Br2112 - Effective Droning

Br2112 (working title) is a real time tactics text based game where mundane actions such as moving, strafing and shooting, have a cost. Created an enviro last night, now tweaking the mechanics and game flow. Sound? Not yet.

Br 2112 - Future Man/Woman

In the year 2112 finally we overcome all gender/race discrimination. All equal in face of starvation and dwindling resources. Here's how. I finally see the point where making a task list is making sense. - Fix a few minor mechanics issues (stuff that I left in to help with testing, mostly) - Add a few tweaks to help players achieve POPULATION ONE - Improve chat mechanics

Time allowing, trailer, sound (poor sound... but creating original sound is going to be a TALL order for me... unless I just opt out the cat. A few extras, including hopefully single player content

Time isn't an issue here. But I feel exhausted, and that's a problem. Food?

Keyboard Warrior Alpha - Br2112, Bro!

Disclaimer. The following gameplay video contains profanity. Yea, I could beg my testers not to do it, but hear me out.

Okay before getting into that: finally I have my first gameplay video for the game. It's multiplayer, and SHOULD work well with more than 2 players. Not sure how far that'll be put to the test before the deadline/release.

First off this game has a feature which incentivizes in-game chat. Chat reveals your position, but also earns you HP (within limits; long sentences in fact reduce HP) Secondly, I discussed the issue of profanity with testers. So there IS a filter. But the filter doesn't remove profanity. Instead it puts it on a dice roll whether you lose a lot (HP to 1/3rd) or earn some (HP+50) when using swear words.

Okay so how I like this is that, when you're about to lose all your HPs... well, it s*ks, right? So the profanity in here seemed appropriate... maybe.

Meeting old friends at the end of a world

Hey! Here's my latest gameplay video

https://youtu.be/uTkEif8t6C0

I was just about to record a goofy sketch to encourage to try and rate my game, when a colleague suddenly turned up. Although the game is SUPPOSED to be action oriented, actually playing PvP with friends, especially friends who come around to check out and ask about my game... well. I think there's a nice balance to it after all. Unsurprisingly I feel at home in here. We can chat, we can almost fly (all the while typing command after command) and when we're tired of doing nothing, we still get to gun each other down : P

Remember to bring a friend if you drop by. Or try playing at even hours on the dot (12, 14, 16, ...) to improve match-making.

Come play Keyboard Warrior (multiplayer)

Hey everybody! Making a multiplayer game within 48 hours felt like an achievement, but so far I only managed to play 2P matches, where the game should support way more. So I setup a discord for match-making, realizing how hard it is for jammers to encounter each other in my game.

Additionally you can also post me your game links in the server (there's a channel for that!) and I'll review these in priority!
