My MiniLD Entry – Bisected Essence II

Launder My Head, Mr. Harris

Aim for the high score!

Here‘s my first ever entry into anything ever.  I thought this theme was a perfect note to begin on.

I got 2, but couldn’t find anything else to do. Very eerie.

I think you’d get on well with Stephen Lavelle. (increpare.com) He does this stuff ALL THE TIME.

Hi Elijah, this game is sweet. Where can I find the song used in it?

The Captain – My second game

I just published my second game, The Captain. It was created in four days for GPCv4, with the themes Sunshine and Burden.

I thought I would share it here, since it is essentially a direct evolution of my previous game, Bisected Essence II.  Thanks!

Very good. Will you be developing this further?

Did you make the music?

I Can’t Find My Glasses – A game made in two hours

Last night I was itchin’ to make something, so I decided to challenge myself. I wanted to start and release a project on the same night, and this is the result.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to spend as much time on this as I planned (I was feeling pretty ill last night), but I’m still happy with this little experiment.

Play it on Kongregate.

This game gave me a headache. :)

It’s very original, it made me feel like I actually had that bad eyesight which was frustrating. It was an interesting experience.

This was brilliant! Not much to the concept, but the squinting mechanism made me laugh, and was very effective. My only complaint was that I couldn’t actually pick up the glasses when I found them. I had them on the floor, directly in front of me, with my cursor dot right on them, but E didn’t do anything, and left-clicking didn’t pick them up.

It was hilarious, I can imagine having that bad sight without glasses. Gave me a nice laugh. :)

Declarations and things

So, I’m in.

I’m not sure whether I will be entering the JAM or the COMPO – It seems logical to attempt the compo rules just to see how it goes.  I’m not terribly attached to either, so I’ll have to live in the moment.

I’ll most likely be using Unity as I normally do, with Sketchup for models. Ableton Live for music. Bsfxr for sounds (maybe). I’m thinking about setting up a Livestream as I work, but I can’t imagine anyone really enjoys watching someone work in real time. I also don’t know how well I could handle the embarrassment of people watching me make silly mistakes (I make a lot of them).

Regardless, I wish everyone who enters good luck!

In

I’m not creating enough lately.

This is good timing.

I’m in.

Oh, and I use Unity.

Six minutes to go. Some thoughts going in.

Regardless of the theme, I will complete a game by the end of Monday at the latest.

I will be using Unity.

To keep my ideas within scope, I’m going to make a rough draft design document…

…Then cut shit from it relentlessly because I will probably be able to achieve half of what I write.

It’s important for me to deliver an experience worth having.  No lazy shortcuts.  If I can’t do it right, cut it.

Music is important.

Here we go.

Using Unity as well. Nervous as hell.

Superchallenge.

So this weekend was a little more busy than I had anticipated.

Today is my only day off.

Time to get a jam entry finished before the end of today!
